New to Nutrients please help

Hello Yall i have not done the Nutrients b4 this is also my first indoor grow so i am learning on the fly. ok so now that we are all up to speed. i bought Organic Nutrients 24-8-16/0.05% Mag, i was told this was safe to use from seedling threw to finish. but i was told by @kellydans that the numbers seem too high for flowering and i am not gonna doubt that. what i am asking, is there a budgeted friendly full set of Nutrients like from seed-finish? please any help would be great. i have searched my local Lowes/Home depot/Walmart for nutrients but honestly idk what i am looking for. i am atleast 2 weeks into flower an dont want to do anymore harm to the lady

These types of stores do not usually carry nutes suitable for cannabis. Stay away from anything made by Miracle Grow of Vigoro. I do see Fox Farm nutrients in these stores, but I would avoid it as a new grower as Fox Farm nutes can create problems. Your best option is probably Jacks 321.

Your plant would benefit from more light.

is that an observation bc of how thinned out she looks? i have been getting a lot of advice from outside the forum also, the advice i got was to remove 3/4th fan leaves to force plant to focus on bud growth not foliage. i hope i was not given bad info an screwed it up.

Plenty of nutes for that, just reduceing in the beginning by 75% or so and slowly bring the ppm’s up a little at a weekly/bi-weekly feedings, quite a few have been using, Mega Crop, Jacks, just to name a couple, hell I used grow dots on 2 plants outdoors in 10 gal bags, fed/mixed into Sunshine #4 from lowes they are my biggest producers so far, other plants have been being fed Mega crop now, was using lotus I had left over from earlier indoor grow!

The node spacing indicates inadequate light. I wouldn’t trim any off of your plants. They need the leaves they have to manufacture the sugars the plant need to grow and be healthy.

Don’t know where you heard this, but I wouldn’t listen to whomever said this. It’s a bit ridiculous.

This is my Runtz auto.

This is Photo THC BOMB Hybrid. I hope I didn’t screw her up if I did please lmk, I am very very upset about the advice I got on trimming shadder/fan leaves

I wouldn’t worry too much. She will continue putting up new foliage during the 1st 4 to 5 weeks of flowering. Your plants look pretty healthy.

You will hear people talk about energy and energy distribution across the plant. To make it simple - the energy actually refers to sugars. Those big leaves use light and CO2 to make sugars for the plant. The plant needs these sugars, so excessive trimming is a bad idea and takes energy away from the plant rather than contribute to it.

To add a bit on trimming. A plant should be trimmed only as necessary to maintain good airflow within the plant. That airflow helps combat mold and also helps CO2 replenishment and plant respiration.

oh and as for the lights i noticed it was not getting enought light so i went and kept buying lights until i was getting tighter nodes on her an stopped buying lights. i went cheap on this round. got 4 Feit led full spectrum lights. and 1 solid purple full spectrum bulb for under the plant. i did the setup DIY aluminum foil 4 Feit full spectrum Led bars/ 1 purp full spectrum bulb. a 2 in 1 Osculating heater/fan with a 3in exhaust fan on top. honestly i was wanting to buy a 36/36/72 tent kit but never made it that far yet.

I would stick with lighting built with Samsung LM301 diodes. Spider Farmer, HLG, and AC Infinity all have good options.

These often contain substandard components. It’s less expensive and you will get more capable components avoiding kits. The only “kit” seller that I am aware of that puts out consistently decent products is a company named AC Infinity. Most of the rest of them sell crap.

The folks here will be happy to help you make your selections.

so basically finish the 2 i have going then scrap the entire setup i have and just put out the money for the AC Infinity kits. honestly i am starting to get overwhelmed with everything i need to get an what i have wasted time and money on already. :unamused:

Don’t get too frustrated. Virtually every one of us (self included) made the same mistakes as we were learning. No need to just scrap the setup. Just continue adding better components as time goes on.

Keep at it. In a year you will be the one handing out advice here.

ok again thank you for the advice. im just gonna let them do what they are doing and start saving up for the AC Infinity Tent kit, and i want to be sure the watts on the led bar are 250 for a 36x36x72 tent or should it be 350 watts? if i can get everything on a list i can get the money for it an start doing it properly.

The latter. You want ~40 watts per square foot minimum.

Start a grow journal here. Post pics, updates, questions and so on in it and we’ll help you with your grow along the way. I can change the title of this thread to indicate that it is a grow journal if you like. Just let me know what you want the title to say.

Here’s and old journal of mine as an example.

Dude, please don’t worry about that. We have all been where you are right now and were asking the very same questions. We are here to help people, not to make judgements.

ok so here is another question. the same jackhole that told me to 3/4th trim shadder/fan leaves told me that Autos to grow the light dont matter as long as its full spectrum it will still grow an flower as it was designed. im betting thats false info too?

Light matters as much as any other part of growing. Nutes are vitamins, LIGHT is FOOD. You will mostly get great advice here, if you read something your not sure of, ask the community , they will chime in and get you on the right track.

It is. A plant will flower under poor lighting, but plant health and yield will suffer. All cannabis plants need full spectrum. There are only 2 real differences btw autos and photos:

  1. Photos require the light cycle to be changed to 12 on / 12 off to induce flowering. Autos will flower when they are sexually mature regardless of the light cycle.

  2. Autos can be more difficult to grow. They are difficult to train because you have no control over when they flower, reducing the time available for a plant to recover from mistakes. Autos can be twitchy and be more sensitive to nute levels.
