New to growing cannabis and seedlings soil is not exactly in the optimal range

Thank you for the encouragement. It means alot. Thank you. Im just worried because it started doing this an hour after i watered it with all that in the water. The leaves did take on a slightly tougher texture also. Im having troubles sleeping. This is my first real plant ive managed to get going this far. Its a female and its my biggest plant. I cant aford to lose it. Im growing outdoors in pots on my deck out back. I made my own soil. Will it bounce back ?

Low stress training. Gently benings, manipulatig and tying back bramches for maximum canopy penetration and training them to grow nice. Anything that stresses a plamt without hurting it too terribly bad. The opposite of hst, high stress training…whch it cropping/topping/fimming. Which all highly stress it hx it actually is chamhing the hormones a plant produces to signal repair and/or nre growth patterns that you, combi ed d with some lst eventually, to keep plants healthy and vigorous. Read about it. Right here. U got gurus out here

Its much better now. I woke up and went to look at it. Its all good. The leaves are lifting back up. I was having a Miracle-Gro flashback from my last 2 grows that completely failed because of the crap. Whew!

Glad to hear she is doing better! I started with miracle grow myself three years ago. I did get five plants to harvest. I think had 7 ounces from all five plants combined. I am finally hitting my groove and got a few pounds from the outside grow last year.

Hang in there. You are in good company here with great growers. We want you to succeed!

Its nervewreaing!!! Trust yourself, my friend! My personality type is that i can see it done, it can be shown to me hands on…i can read , learn and memorize anything. But unril i actually go thw process myself, i nevervknow what im gonna face. I might know what to expect, but ive never actually seen it thru. Right now Ive never done hydro and ive never attempted a scrog…and im doong both. And messing up along the way…trust me!!! Thank God for places like this!

A pound!?!? WOW! How many plants? This is what i need so badly, to wake up in the morning and go pick one of my own buds to smoke. I never thought this would’ve been possible for me a year ago.
Yeah, that Miracle-Gro is too much fertilizer and too eady to over use it and burn up your plants. Im never looking back on that stuff.

Those look beautiful! Im the same way. Im a hands on and do it person. Its the only way i can really learn a thing. My mind is like a slate of steel, it takes awhile to engrave something onto it but once its there, it never leaves…
I was looking into this Scrogging meathod and i want to learn that for sure. Growing Hydro would be very beneficial also, because then i could grow year round. Out here in Pennsylvania the winters are way too cold for anything outdoors to grow. Except maybe a Christmas Tree…LOL!

This seed was actually from a bag of Pot i bought off a freind 6 years ago. Ive germinated and got a few seedlings started before and never seen one sprout up like this so quickly. Even right now i have 13 more freshly germinated seedlings that arent this healthy and robust. I got lucky this year but, im out of seeds. I had hundreds of them from bags of Pot i bought from 2016 to 2021 and only about 18 of them germinated. Next year I’m buying some Autoflowering seeds from ILGM.

Its this one
[Upgraded] Soil Moisture Meter,… https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B7DQDRZC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
@OGIncognito @Spiney_norman

@anon34311147 , The plant looks ok. It will go through all kinds of looks as it grows. Leaves will droop and then rise back up sometimes by the hour.

That meter is not going to work. They are very inaccurate and get worse as they get a little age on them.

Its quite brave to start out by mixing your own soil and you will learn a lot on this and each grow to follow. By and large the reason for making your own soil is to have less work during the grow, giving you a medium that you can simply water and forget. A big part of getting that is letting the mix “Cook” by giving it 6 months to stabilize before using it. And if you are going to chase the pH as it goes up and down you should probably rethink your mix. Lemon Juice and Baking Soda are normally used to slightly adjust the water to a pH of 6.8. and not trying to get the soil itself into range. I fear you are going to be chasing issues all during the grow. As the plant reaches flowering it will become more sensitive to pH issues and you may see deficiencies show up in larger measure. Your goal, if you want to do your own mix, should be a medium that allows you to do LESS work during the grow. Something that holds a stable neutral or, in the case of cannabis, slightly acidic pH for the entire grow. Starting out many use a cannabis friendly soil like Happy Frog. It allows you to mix your nutrients and adjust them to 6.5 to 6.8 and water without worrying about what the soil is doing.

What is a reliable Soil Meter to get that is cost effective? I dont need the nicest one, just a reliable one.
So your saying that with Happy Frog soil i adjust the waters pH with nutrients and forget about it while it grows?

@Spiney_norman
So, i dont need to worry about the small fluctuations in the soil then? I can just sit back and relax and only if i see something going wrong with the plant, then take action?

Within reason, yes. No matter what media one uses to grow the pH in the root zone needs to be in range. Even soils blended for cannabis like happy frog can get out of range for various reasons, but for the most part they are designed to make growing less of a struggle. Cannabis likes a slightly acidic environment in the root zone. And as far a nutrients go it want a little more nitrogen before flowering and then more phosphorus and potassium during flower. So something like happy frog has enough nutrients already in the soil to feed the plant for 4 or 5 weeks and then you, the grower, take over feeding from there. I am not trying to dissuade you from mixing your own soil. I just know the whole process is a big learning experience and starting out in the deep end can be frustrating. Maybe you got this though. Your mix might be great. I just see you already struggling with pH and you have only just begun with this plant. Maybe starting out with a simpler system would be better.
Here is a good pH meter many of us use. Not super cheap, but with a couple techniques you will be good to go.

Not usually. In fact the reading you have with your current meter are very suspect. What the actual pH of your soil is might be great in fact. You wont know till you get a better meter. Once you do you can do a slurry test and see what you actually have.

Whats a slurry test and does the meter you recommend need calibrated?

Each of the kits comes with calibration fluids and its easy to do.

That soil looks really muddy (like regular dirt from the yard). What kind of soil is it? I’m sure you mentioned it above but I’m lazy LOL…

You don’t need a moisture meter - if soil feels dry up to second knuckle, it’s time to water. You can also use the pot-lift’ method. Take a similar container and fill it with dry soil then compare the weight of the pot with the plant to it, if it feels noticeably lighter, it’s time to water. I agree that you need a good ph meter
