I agree!!! Thank God I finally decided to ask you all!!!
Finally finished the greenhouse!!! I have a thermometer/humidity monitor out and will check how cold it gets tonight and tomorrow morning this will be the young ladies new home ![]()
Soooo bottom line on the water…
No ph and dilute tea (with water that has sit out for a day or two)
Right guys?
Thanks
If you are using spring or well water there is no need to let the water sit before use . If you are using town water that uses chlorine or cloramines to sanitise then you let the water sit and the chlorine etc will evaporate over a period of time.
Teas will feed your soil, your soil will feed your plants
Thank you very much for all your advice!!!
Question… due to your name @mountainman1 i have to ask… how high up the mountain are you? Is your grow outside right now? If it is… how cold does it get at night?
Hi @Jay0307, I am at 1100m above sea level in an area known as the Blue Mountains, Sydney Australia. I have 2 plants at the moment that were meant to be white widow auto, but 2 of the 3 I planted dont contain the auto gene and it really stuffed up my indoor grow. I had no choice but to relocate them outside in the greenhouse. This time of year is not ideal for outside growth even though daytime temps are borderline the night temps can drop to zero degrees C. I am looking to run some power to the greenhouse to provide some heat and to supplement the dwindling light levels. Fingers crossed I can keep them alive.
Very cool!
I have a feeling you will keep them all alive.
BlueMountains! Wow, that’s a bit far from the RockyMountains lol but equally majestic.
Question… since you don’t have electricity yet, how do u keep the gals a bit warm outside at night? Just wondering.
3 of my gals spent their first night outside and they survived lol I think our coldest night just past but come end of September and October they will be back lol so I would like to start having a plan. By that time, God-willing I won’t be able to bringing them back inside. They should be finishing up by mid October, I am hoping it will be before that though.
At the moment they are on their own. I do have a sealed 200lt water container that the plants sit on top of. The theory being that the water absorbs heat during the day and releases that heat at night. Its getting really cold at night now and I definately need to run a lead and get the power up there for the heat mat. I have heard of growers using home brewers thermal blankets wrapped around the pot to keep the soil warm.
That sounds so interesting!
I like the water idea. Do u have a thermometer there to see if the heat released by the water makes a difference? Thats something I would try lol
Not overly concerned about them at the moment as I have taken 2 cuttings from each plant to grow later in the outdoor patch. I am letting them go to see how they handle the cold and stress of being outdoors. It will help me to decide which 1 if any to keep.
I looked into the water gallon thing. Sounds interesting, however i started to think about the plastic… once its hot it will release all that junk its made off that its bad for us so i figured it will probably be bad for the gals? Right?
The tree gals i have outside are hanging on… but… i see this…
Haven’t been able to find out what the color of the Tip means
The burning on the leaf tips is a result of too much nutrients. I use it as an indicator of the max ppm the plant can handle. Dial back the nutrient ppm levels just a bit. The leaves that are showing will not repair themselves but if you lower the nute strength the new growth will be fine.
Thank u sir!
I found out what’s going on with the gg! It’s not good. She has spider mites ![]()
I sprayed her and the rest with what I had left of
But I only had a bit that was given to me. That cost over $100/gal. I can’t afford that.
I just read on another post that
5tbsp of liquid soap detergent with 1gal of water will work. Does it? How often should I spray the gals to get this under control?
I got you buddy. Had the same problem about 4 days ago.
