New guy growing autos

Thank you for your time and support! I am thinking the same with the Fox Farm soils, that I should have plenty of nutrients to feed her. The bottom of the 7 gallon pot has 4 quart of Strawberry Fields, so she has something to eat when the flowers come, thinking that the roots will find the soil when it needs some calcium.
Thank you for your time again!

Thanks for your time and pics! These are some nice size leaves. You seem to have a whitish Mark’s on your leaf, mine had that one dark spot on the one leaf that was in question?

Thank you again!

mine was an eggsac of a spider it looked like, but could have been some kind of worm. They’re getting the full Capt Jacks NEEM oil spray down this weekend. I went to HD and BOUGHT a spray-bottle of ready to use Capt Jacks DEAD BUG brew though also so may do that this first time around. The bugs had for some reason, STOPPED bothering Amy Lee in the planter box and even those winged leaf bugs that are almost the color green of your leaves had mostly left. I had made a homemade spray before the Capt Jacks came with peppermint oil , eucalyptus oil, a little tea tree and some red apple cider vinegar (mold killer/preventative as it acts like a surfactant). MAYBE that had started doing it’s thing naturally? who knows

Greetings all, and thank you for your time. I did my first LST this morning and I was just getting the girls to do some bending excersize first. I was amazed by within a hour how much the new under growth has had a chance to green up. I was wanting for all to look over my shoulder and see if I had any fails to look for or correct. The second pic started out as a worley but has gained new growth in the right shape, she came through with a 5 point leaf, the under growth has also improved, I might get something from her. Still not sure what causes a worley?
Thank you all for your time and support!

Greetings all and thank you for your time!
I was wanting to know when it should start to remove some unneeded foliage, I am in the third week after showing the true leaves. I tried LST lightly toget all new growth under the upper leaves exposed, but I was wanting to find out what leaves up from the bottom are the stopping point since they are autos Granddaddy purple. They have started to show the little white hairs on 2 of them.
Thank you all for your time and support! [quote=“Grundymun, post:46, topic:71181, full:true”]

You could clean up the bottoms some now, get rid of any leaf touching the soil and getting in the way of watering. I would not remove any upper leaves yet.

First thank you for your time and your support! How many up from the bottom can I cut up to? So if I cut out up from the first true leafs to maybe the first three leaf? I guess to leave the first set 5 leaf will be fine and leave the big fan leaves yet?
Thank you

Yep, that will work.

Thank you! Do you think looking at them now other than my worley or whatever they are, I am fine to proceed?
Thank you for your time!

Thank you for your time, I forgot to you my white hairs are just now showing themselves, so is it ok to proceed if this changes anything?
Thank you

Yeah autos like to flower pretty quick, hence the white hairs showing up. You can still remove some of the lower leaves. Just don’t go wild and remove all the fan leaves, that would not be good.

Thank you. I am going to trim the three, I guess and do similar some what to the Worley. Then I was going to water after I am done.
Do you know what causes the Worley, was it something in the germination process, or just a bad gene pool?
Thank you again, your reply and support is greatly appreciated, makes new guy have confidence!

Just genetics, like people they won’t all be perfect specimens.

Thank you, have a great day you made my day from your support and knowledge! I will post after their trim tomorrow.
Thank you again!

Dunno why you would need to trim they look good

Thank you for your time.
I am new guy learning how to grow using every bit of information I can read and learn, can you explain your way or timing, what an how. Thanks for your time

I don’t trim very much…I’m growing outside in the ground and wanna utilize all the light I can…it’s windy enough where I’m at and I’m in tune (enough) with the weather that if I thought bud rot was gonna happen I’d thin some stuff out I.e. leaves that touch anything but air, damaged leaves, blocked leaves, and maybe even a bud site that I thought wasn’t gonna turn into anything….other than that I leave the leaves on and let them work…of course there’s others ive seen that DONT do this like @Oldhippy possibly or @kaptain3d … go check out their grows and see what I mean :star_struck:

Thank you for your time and response! All great stuff! I will check on thier way, you never want to stop learning.
Thanks
