New Grower Looking for Advice

It’s actually not much different at all. In an amplifier, you use the heatsink to disperse the heat from the electronics. That’s all an led really is, a different electronic component. A double heatsink will just accept two boards. A quad heatsink will accept four boards. For that matter, they sell a heatsink that will accept three boards as well. But they’re just referring to the physical size of the heatsink.

If you can build or wire a car stereo system, you can certainly put together a quantum board. It’s a handful of screws and four electrical connections per board. And if you buy the kits, they come with neat little connectors that keep you from having to solder.

Four quantum boards is tested to match par levels of a 1000 watt hps bulb in a 4x4. By a third party, not bogus internet claims. So absolutely plenty!

A light mover would help, and you could probably swing a single fixture with one. I think you would run into some potential issues with mounting one in a tent. Even the good tents aren’t the most sturdy.

I’m a hydro grower and have only ever used General Hydroponics Flora series plus some GH supplements so I don’t have enough experience to really help you decide on a nutrient line.

thanks so much! But I have to say in an audio application it is purely watts vs. amps to the subwoofer vs dual voice coil vs single and so on,(I run two 12’’ dual voice coil) It is much different in audio…(12v real in car to 120V in house can be a be a big change,) But very much want to know more about lights! It is very different honestly running a speaker from a car battery from running a constant led light from a wall you know?

If I have a 1200 W system wired to two ohm at 600w steady… with a proper setup they will be BANGING down the the block at a reasonable wattage… while not drainging their upped battery. @dbrn32

@MidwestGanjaGrow look into promix either the bx or hp will work
No nutrients in the mix and its fairly inexpensive
Ive use fox farms line of nutrients they work well but so have a tendency to build up salt in soil and does require flushing during the grow cycle they recommend 3 flushes in a 12 week cycle m
Just a little fyi the GH is a good line theres a bunch of grower here that use it
So you’re in good hand no matter what line you decide to use my friend

Nice! I’m 15-20 tears removed from my car audio days. The one I did for myself the square solobaric’s were brand new lol. I had four 10’s on a Memphis 1000d.

We put a sundown 12” in my son’s vehicle last year. I’m not 100% convinced I have box tuned the best, but I can tell you car audio came a long way since the mid 90’s. It’s ridiculous for one 12”

@dbrn32 Funny the last install I did was actually two soloberic L7 12s lol. Having a multimeter helps a ton with the gain and for clipping.

@Countryboyjvd1971 I think I’m gonna go with the General Hydro line for this first one and see from there. Just waiting on stuff in the mail now! No mail coming for the next couple days most likely though…

Thanks for the advice everyone! I will definitely start a grow journal once I get everything here and set up!

That’s your “peace dividend”! Hahaha.

The story of the neodimium-iron-boron magnet is kind of interesting!

My go to combo is Fox Farms Ocean Forest and Dynagrow nutes. I’m gonna look at the Roberts line of nutes when I need more next time tho.
