I don’t know much about SF except there’s an awful lot of people who love theirs and I have seen some very impressive results.
I’m the last guy to be offering advice as I’m as green as they come except for the thumbs.
But I do know for myself it was either going to be the Kindx750 or one of the california light works and while the Solar System 1100 UVB is quite a bit more, the fact that most of the lights components are sourced from America, good old USA.The heat sinks are enormous and they drive those 5 watt diodes at full blast while running cooler than most other lights with their 3 watt diodes. Many of the other manufacturers incorporate 5 watt diodes into their lights but in limited quantity. Couple that with the fact that they (CLW) manufacture the boards in house with their proprietary material and a fully tunable spectrum with a special controller( an option…as in not included) and the tech support to make sure you have access to the information to keep from frying your ladies.
Just my opinion based on very limited knowledge. But this rig will veg an 8x8 and flower a 5x5 with very little trouble.
The biggest fear I have is my ceiling height is rt at 84" so i did not skimp on fresh air intake with an 8x6 vent from my grow room to the kitchen(behind the refrigerator no less and I can double it quite easily if necessary) huge amount of room with plenty of fresh air circulation and my exhaust fan 6" ac infinity goes all the way out of the house.
The grow room will be done tomorrow and its just in time as my WWA’s need to get out of their solo cups and into 3 gal but more likely 5 gal. fabric pots and ff ocean forest and bergmans nutes, occasional fish poop and worm casting tea about every other week on a day they would otherwise just get ph corrected H2O. They are only at day 20 but taking everything I throw at them like a champ (50 % recommended strength of what they recommend for photos.) I have 2 Gorilla Clone tents one with a full spectrum 40 watt led grow light(great for new sprouts and seedlings) and the other tent I have the Kind X40 veg for weeks 1-3 above dirt then an Kind X40 flower to buy me a week here and there if the grow room is all full.
Well the girls are calling, its almost lights out, have to go check temps/humidity levels.

There’s my new 350R and UVA-30 XL in a 2x4.

Seedling and early veg light in place. HLG 100 V2.

@Blastfact are you using one light for veg one for flowered f and what was the light your using again? I’m just worried the Cali
Lights having spectrum control is an easy way to fry my girls

My seedling/early veg light is a HLG 100 V2 4000K. Keeps seedling stretch down and starts yeah down the road for very tight node spacings and explosive root development. I generally transplant at the end of 3 weeks. Then I will stow away the 100 V2 in the tent. Then fire up the new 350R. Last week of veg around 5 or 6 weeks I will bring the UVA-30 online starting out at 6 hrs. a day the last week of veg. Then 8 hrs. a day first two weeks of flower. Third week of flower 10 hrs. a day. Then 12 hrs. a day until finish. Same pattern with my 3x3 tent. 100 V2 for seedlings/early veg, HLG dual 260 Rspec kit lights through veg. Then bringing another UVA-30 on in late veg through flower.

Current 3x3 grow at 44 days, two days into flower under the dual 260’s and UVA-30 at 170 watts per fixture for a PPFD of 725, DLI 31.32 rear plants. Front plants at 675 PPFD, DLI 29.16

Great looking setup

Hey everyone. New to the grow business here. I have a question about lighting. I bought a vivosun grow tent kit that came with a vivosunvs1000 (100W) led light. My tent is a 48x24x60. I bought a 2nd light of the same to go with it thinking I didn’t have enough light. I am only growing 2 autos in there. Everything seems to be going alright so far. I have read a couple things about these lights being good for the veg stage but not for flowering. Can someone confirm or deny this? Possibly recommend a better light for flowering? Thanks in advance and happy growing!

I hate to say it, but your short 40 watts for what is considered the absolute bare min. in watts per. square foot. You take the total square foot of your enclosure in your case 8’ ( 2x4=8 ) and divide by the total amount of wattage of your lights ( 200 ) = 25 watts psf. The min. and it’s still low is 30 watts psf. To get to 30 watts psf would require a 240 watt light. Most folks do a min. of 260 watt to 300 watt light in a 2x4. My new 2x4 tent has a 330 watt light in it. And my 3x3 tent has a 514 watt light and thats not counting the UVA-30 light each has in it for a bit of ultra violet A. You will be able to grow with 200 watts total. Just wont be ideal.

thank you @Blastfact for the info…any recommendations?

I’m bias twords HLG. So in there stable are 1ea. 260 Rspec XL Kit light. 2ea. Diablo 200, 1ea. 300 Rspec or 1ea. 350R. I have the 350 Rspec in my 2x4 with a UVA-30 XL. And I also store and use a 100 V2 4000k as my seedling veg light. In my 3x3 tent I run a custom dual 260 Rspec with a UVA-30 and also use a 100 V2 4000K for seedling and veg in that tent. I have actually turned out to be a HLG Fan Boy. And I’m really not proud of that little factoid. I don’t know anything about the Vivsons, Mars Hydro, Spider Farmer and the other straight up knock off china lights. I would only outdoor grow before I bought any of there knock off china junk products. I’m so ate up with anti china I haven’t bought anything at Wal-Mart since Obummer was elected and that last purchase was a Colt AR-15 M4-LE. So I’m kind of a ass about my consumer habits. Good Luck!

@Blastfact I have been looking at the HLG website, also waiting hopefully for a 4/20 sale and I am thinking about purchasing a 350R for my 2x4 grow tent. I noticed you said you turned out to be a fanboy of HLG but aren’t exactly proud of it. Everywhere i look and every review I read people absolutely love HLG and this light. Just curious if you noticed any drawbacks or anything I may not know about this light? my 2 blueberry autos seem to be growing pretty damn well with my underperforming lights but I am entering the flowering stage and want them to reach their fullest potential so I am thinking about pulling the trigger!

Secondly, I noticed on their website they msrp about $599 while on amazon they are $499. I have been reading that the one you get from sites not directly from HLG are not quite the same as buying direct. Did you purchase yours from HLG directly? Id rather pay a little more and guarantee what I am getting. Thanks in advance for your help!

My fanboy detraction is just more about me not liking to be a fanboy. Fanboyism can be blinding at times. As for pricing use DUDE at check out on HLG’s site for 10% and GROW I think is a 15% off. There are sometimes flash sales on Instagram. I know there are 20% discount codes. But they come and go. I always buy direct from HLG. No draw backs or issues at all with any of my HLG lights. The reality is they are a bit spendy. And honestly they can be on the fragil side IMHO. With the exposed led’s if your one that drops your cell phone a lot, curbs wheels on your car/truck or are a general klutz HLG mite not be for you.

I hear everything you are saying. Ive been doing a lot of research on them, reviews on their site as well as this forum and others. People are saying nothing but great things about them. They are a little bit pricy but I am willing to spend the money to get more quality bud. especially as my lights are not even meeting the minimums and my plants are about to enter their 6th week and starting to flower. They actually seem to be growing just as nice to other blueberry autos I’ve compared them to in the same growth period. The one on the right is a little smaller and flowering faster than the bigger one on the left. Overall I think they look good but they will definitely benefit from a better light. Just watered them so they are a bit droopy.

I haven’t got the new 350R in the game yet. Still trying to get viable seeds to pop and not die in the dirt. I really hate this new fufu goof troop weed that seems to be the candy ass rage right now.

I was luckily enough to have my first 2 seeds both pop and survive. From what I’ve read blueberry is one of the easier autos to grow. One last question for you. did you go with the manual dimmer or the 0-10v dimming? sorry to throw so many questions at you. I’m just trying to learn as much as I can. Thank you for all your help man!

Just the basic manual dimmer. No need for the RJ 0-10v. I’m not networking or using centralized control like a commercial grow. Just two small tents…

If bought on China Amazon crap store only a three year warranty on the 350R, 5 years when bought direct from HLG.

I bought the pro version which also roped me into a 1 year subscription. I just cancelled it. Wish I could get my money back on the POS App…

@Blastfact How is the seed germinating going? Seedling mat? Germinating kit? (not needed, but has advantages). ILGM seedling germinating videos and forum should assist you greatly with knowledge.
GOOD WATER with known PH is important to seeds and seedlings. Quality seedling soil important for seed housing after germination and tail protruding.

I’ve been popping seeds for the better part of 50 years. Grew my first outdoor plants in the 5th grade. It’s just fufu modern crap candy ass weed now days. The last 3 years have been on the hellish side and it just seems to be getting worse. If they pop they die in the dirt/pete/whatever I start them in. I’ve got one tiny little seedling under light right now and hope to have another tonight if not by tomorrow. Theres a group of us that have known each other since grade school that grow and we are all seeing the same thing. There are a few of us that travel quite a bit so there going to start hunting down some landstrains like we grew up with and get away from all this candy ass fufu weed. Got to start yanking some chains and start getting real weed or shut it all down. It’s starting to get very depressing growing this bred up crap weed.

It is only going to get worse. My clone guy said some crazy things about WA MJ laws, for growers.
Seeds from the 70’s are probably more valuable than bitcoin.
