New Grow Soil Question

I have just completed my first indoor grow and am going to start a new one. Do you experienced growers re-use your soil or do you use new soil? I use 3 gallon bags with Fox Farm Ocean Forest.

Assuming you feed supplementary nutes…?

Some growers reuse their soil. I would think that it would create additional challenges managing pH and PPM.

Agree with above…can be done…but we work so long and hard for our harvest…starting off with less than ideal growing medium is undue risk

I do, very lightly. I use a ppm meter and try to keep at 1000ppm ind and out. But I found in the early stages of growth in FFOF, the ppm’s were high without nutes. Later that changed.

Out of the bag OF usually doesn’t need feeding for the first ~6 weeks from the most recent transplant.

I grow organic, and I do reuse my soil. I just amend it with dry organic nutrients before I plant my plant into it. Works for me.

That won’t work for you, if you’re using synthetic nutrients. @Jmiller

If you’re using organics, then that’s what we do with re-amends

I have reused mine for last couple years. Gets better and better. Living soil/dry ammendments.
I have to add epsom as that seems to be main nute depleted almost completely. The soil itself has turned dark and silky. Grows weed like a boss.

Thanks Storm. Where do you suggest I can research the “living” soil preparations I keep hearing about? Thank you for your info, jm

What’s your setup in the picture… Looks like a combo of soil buckets and something else? Using SIPs or something for the soil?
