Germination started today. I’m just going to start off with what’s going in what. In the 5x5 tent under 1000 watt light in 30 gal fabric pots (not wide but tall pots) 3 Wedding Cakes and 3 Runtz Muffin. For the 3x3 tent under 600 watt light will be 3 White Widows in 7 gal pots. ( 1 OG Gelato is flowering right now in 3x3 tent should be done by the time I move the White Widows in) Now for the outdoor ones I’ll have 2 Blueberry Fem in ground. (Planning on giving them 2 weeks and a half to get bigger an it’s going straight into ground on 4-20) all plants will be SCrogged, topped and pruned with a little bit of extra training.

Come to find out these 30 gal pots are wider than I expected not tall. I have 11 that grew sprouts doing really good now. Is there a way to make these wider 30 gal pots a little less wider? @Covertgrower @dbrn32

I think I figured it out 2 30 gal I can fit in back of 5x5 tent I can also put 3 plants in 7 gal with it if I do 4 7 gal pots that will be pushing it. If I have to I can put 3 outside in 30 gal pots. With soil I was thinking to save on organic soil I could say fill 7 gal and 30 gal about half full of the organic soil I have then put top soil either regular potting soil or coca coir for the top half. Is this a good way to start with soil? What’s your recommendation on if I do go regular potting soil on top half? The thing is I’ve never used regular potting soil with my grows all organic so I kinda don’t know either if coco coir or regular potting soil will do the job I am going to be giving them roots organic grow for veg and roots organic bloom for flower for nutes. @dbrn32

I wouldn’t layer inert soilless media with an amended soil. From there you either want to be organic or you don’t? I don’t care either way, but doesn’t make sense to me to fill bottom half of pot with expensive organic soil and then put cheap synthetic time release soil on top. I don’t have any problem with synthetic nutrients, but defeats purpose of what you appear to be trying.
Imo it sounds like you didn’t think think this all the way through. 30 gallon pot seems borderline ridiculous for indoor grow. But if that’s the route you want to go, then you have to expect to absorb cost of doing so. It takes about three 1.5 ft³ bags to make up 30 dry gallons. Your fabric pots are likely smaller, but I would plan on probably two 1.5 ft³ bags per pot minimum. If you want to layer, I would do 1 bag of a super soil on bottom and then top off with something like roots original. It’s pretty airy and not terribly expensive.

Yeah I wasn’t expecting them to be that wide but since I got them mine as well go big with atleast 2 of them. I can do roots organic I love that stuff. All regular top soil/potting soil is synthetic? I didn’t know that I had thought they were just a base soil. I do have cow manure soil that was really hot but has been sitting outside for more than 5 to 6 years I was considering putting that on bottom then the organic soil on top but the problem is I had seen some fire ants in it not alot though so that kinda steered me away but I did read that cinnamon and distilled water will get rid of them. If I had used roots organic for the other pots and say like for 2 pots to put that on bottom so the when time to transplant the roots will soon enough hit the cow manure soil so it won’t burn the plants? If it’s not good to use the cow manure soil I’ll indeed get roots organic for all the pots. I do know that we’ll maintained in 30 gals the plant can become massive but I was thinking not to top as much as I would if they were in 7 gal pots. You are most defenitly right about organic super soil that stuff is defenitly on the expensive side. @dbrn32

a hell of a better deal than Amazon and other places Walmart has them for 17 dollars each but shipping is way too high.

Not necessarily all potting soils are synthetic. But if they have nutrients and aren’t organic, that is probably pretty good sign it contains synthetic nutrients. As far as how your proposed mixture would work, it’s hard to say. Every grow is a little different. I am also of the opinion that when using organic soils there is always some risk of bugs being in it.
My hydro shop sells 1.5 ft³ bags of roots original for $20. Internet pricing is always hit or miss.

With cow manure I can do a seed and test to see what happens what’s one seed right? Oh you remember last year the Peyote Zkittles I had that looked amazing? So I put pic on reddit and now in one day more than 100 likes and comments saying impressive an all sorts of things. That means I did it right correct? Every grow gets better and better. Really I’m thankful for your help and others teaching me alot of things. Cause really you guys input and opinions help me out alooot! I’m beginning to feel like I’m gettin to become a professional at this! @dbrn32

If your soil doesnt have some bugs and worms and fungi and other living organisms… it wouldnt qualify as real organic soil for me. These things, both good and not so good, are essential for a balanced ecosystem and soil biology. It has been said that even the pine beetle has a place in the forest, its only when the numbers get out of balance that serious problems arise. So to it is with insects in the garden… ants aerate soil, aphids make honeydew for ants, aphids make food for lady bird beetles, when we have harmony there it all works with very little need for human intervention.
Indoors all of this needs control by the man god and for this reason I tend to steer clear of non sterilized material.

Both are right I will not ever grow not organic. I see alot of benefits of all organic but I do wanna dip my toes into rwdc sometime. Sadly gorilla Zkittles outside is flowering making buds I’m just letting it do its thing I do see small part of powder mildew on stem but I can get rid of it no problem. My friend that lives in florida he is doing it legal btw he has his cultivation license he has trouble with humidity same humidity problems I have any suggestions to beat the humidity?

Lack of or too much?
Outdoors is difficult to control nature. The only 2 ways is either enclose in an environmentally controlled greenhouse. Or only grow strains known to tolerate high humidity. Possibly Hawaiian or Jamaican strains? Maybe some equatorial ganja strains.

What are some of those strains I’ll look into it and too much humidity sadly only when sunlight hours when there above 13 hrs like this month. Bad problem with storms

A greenhouse has some limitations, even mine requires that I roll up half the covering for the majority of the growing season vecause of excessive heat buildup. Therefore, in order for a greenhouse to be viable as a way to control RH it must be fully climate controlled which is extremely expensive for most of us.
Its why I mention a search for humidity tolerant plants.
Humidity is only an issue here in the last month or so of flower, so I cant help you much in that department sorry.

You may need to research climates such as Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Panama, parts of coastal Mexico, maybe Columbia? Areas that are prone to high humidity through the growing season. These plants will be genetically more capable of withstanding high humidity and temperatures. Desert plants like Afghanistan will probably suffer.

So I’ve decided to add more light in my 5x5 tent. Just like @yoshi had said which is true if I had more light power I could quadruple my yield on plants. Thing is should I have for 2nd light 600 watt or another 1000 watt light? I know both light fixtures will fit and environment is on point. Just don’t know which one to pick sadly
