if you go with cocco the guys above are epic growers, I didn’t realise it would be a good option for you, first grow and all and they will help massively, im interested to see how it goes if u go that way too.
just one thing I buy from that shop, in NSW too and they struggle to get all the general hydroponics stuff, so u might want to buy it in advance, just to make sure u have it.
sorry about the auto pot size I don’t have much good experience with auto, and shouldn’t have commented. .
I am going to tag some one I think can help you out best. he is an aussie too and is great with both soil and coco. And also has grown both in and out doors. @anon43727043 I think this is him here. I will get him a link to here any ways. For autos in coco though. using the GH nutes. I doubt you will ever need to go over 2.5ml per gallon. For me,much more and the plants tell me to back off. My very first grow was 4 plants in coco. I got 23 12 oz from them. SO I have faith that you can do just as well. The one thing that will get you in trouble fast is to try and feed heavy like other soil growers do. Just watch you plant and she will guide you. You also have a lot of great people here to help you as needed too. I must have asked a million questions in my first grow. I am surprised my mentors didn’t abandon me for that lol I would suggest you look at all those that have offered advise. And choose one or 2 to guide you through your first grow. With so many offering advise. Even though it is all well meant. It can overwhelm you quick. I choose @Myfriendis410 and @MattyBear to get me though my first grow.
Thank you so much for the advice I really appreciate it you have no idea and also to all the others that have offered advise too I guess every grower has their own way of doing things haha.
@kettle also never say sorry for giving advice
I appreciate all you’ve said and will help me in the future if/when I grow in soil
I will continue with the plan I started with and use coco coir with those nutes and also cal mac. If those growers you tagged are able to comment anything I would very much appreciate that too. I’m just trying to soak up as much information as I can at this point and learn.
I’m going to try and do it the right way by either filtering water or buying already filtered water and ph meter and get it to around from what I’ve seen and correct me if I’m wrong to about 6.0? Thank you for all the advice it’s gotten me really exited to start
thanks man, but autos are different and I could have led u down a wrong path with pot size and it could hinder u. as @Not2SureYet said find a mentor or two or three that will work with you, and focus on their advice that is specific to what u want to do and the help that comes from everyone else is helpful but a bit of noise that can also distract u…
hey man grow organically in NSW is soil is great, if you make it through the battles, my best was over a kg for 1 plant of mid quality bud, but once again that was over 10 years ago so I wouldn’t be the best person to guide u there either, you see… , because there are people on here with twenty plants in soil atm that will be the ones…
its not as hard as you’d think everyone on here is super helpful, and @Myfriendis410, has already shown an interest and peachfuzz is my dude, hes been here too, but hes mainly does hydro but is the man, so u see great growers are always watching and will help when you decide on what you do, take some photos and write a lot,
good luck my NSW buddy, where r u anyway, im in Sydney, and west of the great dividing range, ,
Thanks man I appreciate so much, I would be so grateful if you were to mentor me through out the process if you have the time ofc. I didn’t realise this site doesn’t have personal messages is there another way we could do it?
Also holy shit, 1kilo from one plant? That shit would last me all year hahah, would that be safe to grow a plant that large in my backyard? After my first successful grow I will definitely try a full organic soil grow
I will be in touch @Zenpha mate. There’s a Shitload of great Aussie Growers here. I’m not too complicated or scientific but my weed certainly blows my mind. I hope you have a wonderful day, I’m just really busy at the moment. I’ve bookmarked your journal & will be back. Thank you for your patience mate! Peck
No problem brother, thanks again for your help! Seeds have shipped but not here yet so I’ll go to Bunnings and see if they have any coco which I imagine they do, thank you again!
Good morning @Zenpha mate. So your looking to grow ‘WhiteWidow-Autoflower’ . Outdoor, 7gal cloth pots, with ‘coco-coir’ as medium & the flora trio nutrients. At Bunnings most of there coco comes in bricks. You have to prepare the coco yourself. Coco-coir is an inert substance so it doesn’t have any nutritional value in it, you have to supply the food. Both Micro & Macro nutrition. Please ask as many questions as possible my friend, there’s no such thing as a silly question… only the question that wasn’t asked. I don’t have a PC or laptop, I only got my phone. But if we need to upload or post links there’s plenty of willing people to help. I have bought almost everything I use for growing on eBay. I don’t live near a major city or have access to a decent hydro-garden shop. You will have to learn about the importance of ph & PPMs. (Basically- when your plants are hungry and how hungry) otherwise your wasting $ & nutrients. Growing weed starts out as a hobby & quickly becomes an exciting journey my friend. I could never go back to buying the seedy shit stuff, homegrown weed is so satisfying and delicious! Write down any questions you can think of & I’ll do my best to explain & answer them ok mate. Cheers, Peck
Man these guys are pros. They know their stuff. But if it’s truly your first time to grow anything you don’t have to make it super complicated. Outdoors in potting soil just like you were growing tomatoes or anything will work fine. You can still feed just dilute a lot at first and add gradually. Remember the guys using hydroponics can see a change in the plant overnight and adjust, whereas in soil it takes much longer to show signs of problems and in turn takes longer to correct. Still as a nub I’d recommend soil. It’s more stable and harder to screw up. Lol… the best thing is your starting with good seeds. Good luck bro. You’ll do great
nice to meet you too bud, most of my fishing is on the coast when I get back there, my mate and his boat and mum are there… mainly around that famous bridge in Brisbane water for jews ATM… kings outside, but same
No problem man take your time it’s all good, I’m about to get some sleep because I’m a night owl haha, questions I have so far are,
The coco coir, I’ll probably end up buying it from eBay or a hydro store in powder form or like already crushed up, will the plant need any nutrients in the coco coir in the first stages? Or do I just put the coco coir in the pot, germinate and plant seed, wait for veg or do I wait for flower to add nutrients? also with pH, I guess I’ll be needing a ph pen and ph up and down, I read that for auto flower pH to 6.3 is perfect, also when I pH do I add the nutrients in and then pH or do it before the nutes. I’ll have more questions but I’m getting very sleepy, thank you so much
I also understand your frustration when it comes to seedy and low quality weed, I’ve honestly never smoked any amount of weed where there were visible trichomes, ofc there were still trichomes it got me stoned but it was just low quality what always gives me motivation is seeing people grow frosty nuggets haha
G’day @Zenpha mate, I hope your having a wonderful day! If possible can you get to a hydro store? It’s more expensive but, If you buy coco that’s already been mixed with Perlite (to help air get to roots),bathed in Calcium/Magnesium & buffered it will save you trouble down the line. If not, we can just adjust later. I need to go back to other side of forum, I’ll be back mate.
You only have to keep seed/seedlings moist until they develop 1st set of true serrated leaves. Spray bottle with ph water 3-6times a day. We can cover that once your on your way my man ok. You will need a reliable set of pens, in coco adjustments to PH/TDS/PPMs/E.C. are needed for optimal health. Peck
