What do you growers think, do theses need pruning, like the bottom few branches on each or defoliation? Remember I’m new and learning from this community. FYI, I’m using RDWC in clay with 2x Vivosun VS2000 led lights(I know they are cheap) in a 4x4 tent, GH flora series. I flipped the light on nov 26, and I did get the net on late.
Thanks

Defoliate for sure let more light in to the bottom of canopy

When you just flip to flower like that alot of growers usually wait till the 21 day marker or closer to that day since flip before they defol too much. You don’t want to stress them out TOO much in early flower. Yeah pluck a few leaves here and there but nothing real heavy till around three weeks or so for most growers after flip. Not saying you CANT defol early on in flip but most would probably tell you to wait couple weeks.

Start cleaning out her undercarriage now. Maybe remove anything that doesn’t reach halfway up the plant. Definitely clean up the interior buds that won’t amount to much.

Do a little each do but I would start with the very bottom of the canopy. Those branches about 2 to 3 inches from the bottom of the stem id cut off.
Then as the days go by I would do my best to clean up any leaves that wouldnt make it to your trellis net. About a fourth to a third of way the from the bottom of the stem to the top of the canopy would be a good place to stop. So start from the bottom of the stem to about a fourth or a third of the length from the top stop. But that is completely at your preference. Remember not to take to much of her at one time because too much stress will stunt her growth and that’s horrible at the flower stage. And sometimes too much stress will cause her to herm so be very careful and do light defoliation to her everyday having around the 4th week being the last week you fuck with her at all. You want the flowering stage to be as stress free as possible to get the most out of your lights and your plants.
For the top of your canopy you need to be tucking as many leaves as you can to expose as many bud sights to your light as possible. That’s the whole point of pruning pretty much is to get light to the bud sights that have potential to be big and dense. Cutting the leaves at the bottom redirects the hormones in the plant to make the other ones you keep stronger by giving them more energy to grow. Hope this helps a little bit!
