Hey fellow growers, I have yet to pick up a 3x magnify. What is the best way to find if they are mature with the naked eye? I’ve heard many dif ways… fan leaves start to yellow, or when hairs are mostly turned golden brown… What IS the best method?

The best way is with a cheap 60X microscope to monitor the trichomes. You have 4 to 5 weeks left.

Looking pretty, well done, how long she been flowering?
Just going by picture she looks like she needs at least 1 or 2 more weeks…

Buy a 60X magnifier on Amazon. It’s just a few bucks. Then use it to look at the trichomes on the buds. All milky = not ready. Wait until 25% - 75% are amber, then harvest. Or harvest some at 25%, some at 50%, some at 75%, dry and cure and see which one you like better.
25% = active inspired head high
75% = couch lock

Maybe 7-10 days, looking at trichomes best way to tell, they go from clear to milky as post above says.
I keep reading that cloudy trichroms are good and amber will give you couch lock. Which is it?
It’s really up to you, if you are just growing for yourself. 20% amber is more of an active head high. 80% amber is definite couch lock. What’s happening is the THC content stays about the same but you are making more CBD when you wait for 80%. This might help some medical problems. CBD counteracts THC to some extent and is more narcotic-like.
Or you could watch for 20% amber and pick half the buds, then wait for 80% in the rest. That way you get a “day time” smoke and a “bed time” smoke. Picking time and good curing is the art of a good grower
