What numbers?
What light/how much, how long & hours?
Hey, thank you and sorry, I am in the UK, so I am a few hours ahead.
12/12 and ppfd 1200, sometimes a bit higher, but how come the lower buds got light burn?
tres bien mon amie!
How international are we?
How are you amigos? ![]()
I think your input is definitely the most logical ![]()
Thank you, everyone, and sorry, @ChittyChittyBangin and @Lostgirl ,

I chose my last salutation because it rhymes. ![]()
To my ear, Italian and French are the most beautiful-sounding languages. Which ones sound beautiful to you?
I’m working on getting 4 plants going in my 2 x 4’ tent. I meant to start them all at the same time, but setbacks have dictated that they’re all different ages. #4, for example, just sprouted whereas #1 has been in veg for 2 weeks.
@ACMilan I do not think the flushing topic was properly resolved.
I ask you why do you flush? I have more info, I just want to know why you do it.
OMG, I just realised it rhymes! I won’t normally read my tag; that sweet, AC mon amie, of course, was one of my DUHH moments there
.
Italian is definitely not one of my favourite languages, particularly if I hear other Italians and me speaking English. Various Italian politicians and footballers are so cringy
. Maybe I get it about the Opera, but that’s it. Spaniards speaking English I also found them cringy,
I remember a joke about Penelope Cruz about how “the beautiful Penelope Cruz talks like Speedy Gonzales” ![]()
About the plants, I should have done that too, new ones on different stages, but I’ll wait and put them all at once
Got it. So if I plugged an experiment where they did a blind taste test of flushed and unflushed bud and the consensus was the unflushed bud tasted better, that would change your mind? Some things are proven to work and others are “Bro” science. Like lostgirl asked what do you mean by flushing? Did that article say what “flushing” meant to them or how to do it. Alot of us will water only for the last 2 weeks, but that isn’t flushing, but does align with the article posted as to using what is in the soil plus we get to save just a bit on nutes for the last 2 weeks.
Here is one contradictory snippet from a Science website
However, the effects of this practice on the plant and the chemical quality of the produced yield were not tested, and this wide-spread practice is therefore not backed-up by science-based reasoning.
and here is an article from High Times
Choice is also driven by Organic vs Synthetic growing and most that do flush do it to remove the salt build up from heavy feedings and pushing her in flower.
This is growers choice and has variables on how why when etc…but I feel the added convo has brought more clarity to Flushing.
Plants look great by the way.
Regarding my favourite language, it’s English, the posh one, it’s so elegant. But well-spoken English, from anywhere, it’s also good, and some accents are also nice, like the Irish.
I also like it because it has so many words; one can express the most nuanced concept in English; I am pretty sure it’s the language with the most extensive vocabulary.
I started growing in 02 in Humboldt and I was surrounded by a lot of very knowledgeable growers some of who were multi generational growers…all this to say I was in a large community of quality and not so quality growers…we all called the last two weeks of “water only” feeding schedule “the flush”. I think we’re getting a little lost in the weeds with semantics. Right or wrong I think that’s where the term “the flush” comes from
A flush is a flush only when flushing the act of flushed has already been flushed after you flush.
More importantly, is an itch still an itch after you scratch it? Or if you never scratch it does it remain an itch or something that just needs scratched.
I hope this clears everything up
I agree with you 100. I am old and that was we always called it.
Just got smarter by a few points.
Thank you for your reply, but…one more time: in my original post, I said I was harvesting; if someone is talking about flushing and harvesting, I thought it stands to reason I wasn’t flushing a problem out.
The article I posted was to describe why I did it, I could have just written it, but I thought that said better.
Please understand I didn’t publish the articles because I “blindly follow what the internet says”, flushing at the end of the harvest it’s something I always heard and knew about, everyone I know just talked about flushing, i am not an experienced grower so I thought it was normal, only now I realised it’s not something everyone does and no, I have never had the opportunity to compare flushed/unflushed weed, not that I know of, so I may taste the difference, idk, anyhow…my initial question wasn’t even about that

I can translate that to you in Chinese because I like Chinese food
有在冲水之后冲水的行为已经被冲水时,冲水才是冲水。
更重要的是,挠了之后还痒吗?或者,如果您从不抓挠它,它仍然会发痒或需要抓挠。
我希望这能澄清一切
