My secondGrows journal

Ok so this is what i would call my “f” up run as it was my first grow. Miracle gro soil ( i found out a big no no ) mixed with some peat moss. ff trio nute that i cut out for 6 weeks. I just dtarted in the last 6 feedings to give cal mag tiger bloom and big bud every other watering at half dose. They are in 3 gallon pots. I water every other day or so have not been going to full runn off tho. Temps in the room are about 84 degrees and 40%rh. The strain for this run was royal dwarf from royal queen seeds. According to their time line i should be harvesting by the 9th of nov ( i know thats not accurate there has been a lot of stress and screw ups ) ive had lights fall on the plants, ph lock out, cat attack. Everything that a newbe could do wrong i did. Here is the data sheet on the strain.

Sounds like they need more water. I have some in 2 & 3 gallon pots and fabric bags. I can wait til the 3rd or 4th day before it dries out.

I water every 2 days

No shame there. Growing cannabis can be easy once you have a good method and understanding, but that knowledge comes at a cost. Mostly time, frustration, and even $$$ when you f@$# up. It’s part of the process.
I’m not quite sure how to fix your current situation since I haven’t made those mistakes. My best advice would be to finish them out, treat it as an experiment, learn what you can from it, and write it off as a learning experience. If you want, I can point out some things that I would change or try if it was my grow, but Idk if it would be enough to turn it around.

Yeah thats pretty much what im doing. Have the next set of seeds already sprouted using ffhf later this month will get better lights i now make sure to alway test and retest the ph of my water and stated using some really good purified water. Sucks sitting there for hours to make 4 gollons of it but oh well. The ph of the filered water is 5.8 so i have to adjust that and the ppm is only 40 ppm before adding anything to it. So i think ill do better next round. But i am always open to advice.

New pots for the new girls

It sounds like your getting a better handle on the new grow.

I imagine this isn’t helping matters. with the miracle gro + peat you probably don’t have great drainage. Fortunately in a 3 gal pot I bet your soil dries pretty quick.Watering to a generous runoff will help rinse out some of the imbalanced nutrient salts that are left over in the soil. That might help maintain a better balance in your mix. Then wait till the soil is relatively dry in the top inch or so, but you don’t want to let it get so dry that it turns hydrophobic.
Keeping a record of PH and EC/PPM of nutes and runoff might help. If nothing else it will give you a baseline to see if your trending up or down, even if the individual readings are a little skewed from time release ferts(which should be getting burned up at some point).

Yeah new grow im trying to do a lot better. While using ffhf how long should i wait to start feeding??

30-40% perlite, by volume, helps reduce moisture and increase aeration.
FFOF feeds a month and then needs monitoring.

Good plan.

Changes soil dynamics and PH.

It depends on the size of plant and pot. You probably have a little time. Once they get a little bigger you can water to runoff and test that to determine the exact time to feed. mostly your trying to keep your Runoff between 800 and 1200 PPM

So the girls are doing great in new pots. Give them a day and ill water again tomorrow. Just ordered my new lights!! Did 2 of the szhlux 500w dimmable thanks @Growdoc should have them by the 7th. By next weekend ill water the babies to run off and see where my ppm is sitting at. Getting crowded in the grow room. But its my fault. The data sheet on the royal dwarf said harvet 9 weeks from sprout, ( which would have been next sat )but now im learning its more like 12-16 weeks. So gonna be tight in there for the next month

So heres another f up tonadd to the list… asked for help to make my nutes and water told them what to do… checking my run off im at 2200ppm. 6.5 ph no wonder my leaves are all burning… lot of p and k in there. Luckily havent been useing much nitrogen so that shouldnt be bad… so i guess im back to just ph water again for the next few weeks. Damn miracle grow and asking people for help… but i bet if i say i need help smoking all this they would be able to do that freaking right

Hi the hot soil with time-release nutes takes a different watering methods but too late for that anyway. They been fully saturated a few times I suppose. Nutes move with water.
Agreeing with @Gl1tch about nute toxicity.
Anywwy after pHing your water Im assuming pH-down whats the ppm of that mix. You dont need pHdown, 40ppm tap thats like a piss in the ocean. Give yourself a break growmie dont worry bout it. Just pH your nute mixes

I get my whater phd to 6.5ish. I was testing after adding all the nutes. But like i said for the next couple weeks i wont be adding nutes and try to let them use up whats there. My soil ph tester is reading about 6.4 in the soil. When i tested the run off i was getting 6.1
