My Organic Grow Journal

But took some shots of the girls today and scoped them again.
They are definitely getting cloudy and getting close. I’m sure I could go another ten days or so. I’m not gonna lie they look pretty rough and beat up. Smh. They started with such promise. The tops are solid and lowers are definitely popcorn like buds. Honestly I really don’t know how much more they are going to fill out. Maybe if I push them
More than a week they’ll start degrading not sure. But they are strictly water and molasses’s from here out.

That’s why I’m here asking you. I’m still learning. I only asked because the little light spec chart they show is slightly higher in all ranges I also thought it being 5k would help veg. Where as the 288 boards that make the 300l are only 3500k. And the B spec lights that are built for veg have 470nm of blue spec something like that. I might have it all mixed up and way over thinking things.
I should probably focus more time on how I’m going to correct the ipm issues I had this grow. And not falling way short on things like nitrogen going into flower like I did this grow. As much a I’d like to stick with organics. Something like Jacks or I found about Beanstalk Controlled Released Fertilizers made specific for hemp is starting to sound more appealing the more I read. The past week I’ve done a lot of reading and listening and with working two jobs and kids I feel I need something more on the water only or something I have more control over. I definitely feel the time I pend thinking bout it the more complicated I’m making things you know. Lol. Thanks for the good conversation. @dbrn32

R-spec vs b-spec vs anything else is simply a matter of measured plant response at specific wavelengths. You can successfully grow weed from start to finish with any of these. From there is just differences in targeted purpose of the light or lights.

I agree with getting to point you have a good light and/or are at least capable of providing recommended light intensity. Once you have that every other aspect of your grow is going to be more critical. I grew with organics in the beginning and feel its overated by many. Imo doesn’t really matter what you do here, but is more a matter of how well you do it. Growing with time release nutrients is difficult for a lot of people to be successful with. I would think this would be least desirable way to go.

Thank you for your truthful response. I truly appreciate it. You definitely swayed me against going the time release route. The more I think about things I think I’m gonna go synganic if that’s a thing. The three nutrient lines I’m thinking about is House and Gardens, emerald harvest or Jacks. It’s either that or stick with organics and go full no till 3x3 bed with a trellis. Only reason I’m thinking of sticking with full organic is because I have a ton of stuff left over from this round. But I’m sure there’s a way I can mix it with the synthetics. I definitely miss the control I had on what’s going in and coming out. I think the major deciding factor is that I would like a speedy grow next round and don’t really want to veg 60 plus days again like I did this grow. Thank you for patience and letting me pick your brain. @dbrn32

I don’t know that synthetic or organic nutrients will specifically speed your plant growth up or down. To me that comes with growing in hydroponics or soilless base that you can feed at a very high frequency. I think could be done organically, just too damn expensive.

If you want to at least use up the stuff you have, just substitute in some plants to cut down on amount of time it takes to fill your canopy. You could also try increasing amount of perlite in your soil in attempt to speed up wet/dry cycles, in turn needing to be watered more.

Pretty sure I’m about at day 6o since flip. Life got busy again and haven’t checked the girls in a couple days. And by boy George they started throwing some more white pistils and swell noticeably. Top buds have new green growth on top of the buds and the lowers are super triched out. Pictures really don’t do it justice. But I can definitely see where the get the name popcorn buds. The lowers are starting to pop open. Not sure if that’s normal. Or if something to be concerned about. Am I pushing them too far? Scope shots are milky not much amber at all including on the leaves. Getting to the point I need to start getting my stuff together to pop next rounds beans.

Even though the smaller plant is stocky and started dropping leaves super early. The buds definitely seem tighter and heavier versus her sister. But the tops on the taller pheno are pretty nice. Also I’m pretty convinced the side lights gave them a good kick in the butt.

@Hellraiser How long you thinking?

Really looks amazing and you are doing. Already job. I personally wouldn’t know unless checking trichomes

@dbrn32
Not sure how to quote you. But definitely seriously thinking about your advice. Almost positive I’m going to up my plant count to at least four maybe six. Either staying organic with a bed or doing something like living organics with fresh new amendments through veg allow the plants to eat what’s in the soil then switch over to feeding line of sorts to know what’s going in how and how much and have a better handle on things. Something like Emerald Harvest or Primordial Solutions.

Basically very milky. Some clear very light amber. I’ll take a picture of a pictures lol not the most tech advanced.

Plants look great! You may want to disregard the newer pistils and take a look at trichs.

@SilvaBack203 @dbrn32 I’m definitely doing my research on drying. The past couple runs from my outdoor buds dried to fast and wrong humidity lost all terps and tasted like hay. Still kinda does. Look like bag swag smells like it too but it does the job for what it is. I also bud washed for the first time. I was super concerned about mildew and mold also had a dehumidifier running too long too low and way too much air flow. Also didn’t have a tent at the until the beginning of this flower session. Technically this is my first real attempt inside in about 20 years. I’m petrified of loosing the super strong terp profile I built though. Probably some of the nicest nug I’ve ever grown. No it definitely is. Lol. Thanks for the quick feedback.

I would rather jar the buds on the wet side than too dry. I have always wet trimmed and then put my buds in jars when the smaller stems were no longer pliable. I use the mini hygrometers in a few jars. If rh in jar is over 65% rh i dump jar onto paper plate and let air out for a little while before putting back into jar. Once they are 65% or below when the rh in jar is equalized I just burp regularly.

Thanks man. That was the intention when I dropped these seeds to have them for care packs for Christmas for family. Definitely won’t be done curing and what not by then. I ordered a bunch of grove packs so maybe I’ll pack some up and tell them don’t open until I’m ready. Haha. I doubt they’d wait though. @Aussie_autos
