I think the 400 was the one i was looking at the other day.
If you guys agree they are good, that’s good enough for me. I liked the build and how they are made.
Be a bit but maybe they’ll go on sale even cheaper. Haha

They have the 400 schlux for 144 on sale now, says it covers the 4x4 and they have the 500 watt for 199 that’s for a 4x4 or a 5x5. That may be overkill for 3 plants. The ol lady capped it at that, said it’s gonna stink up the neighborhood. 
I put both in my cart, will keep an eye on the prices.

One last thing, once you get your light meter you can lower your current lights closer to the top of your plants to get more intensity (increase the PAR number) if you need, just make sure to keep the light an inch or two away for heat to dissipate. I love cannabis because there’s a lot of science and numbers but I can tell once you get deep into it you can forgo the numbers and science and do things more naturally by “listening” to your plants.

Getting the other set up and buying the other tent has me stretched a bit.

Really in no hurry, the one looks like it’s doing well in the small tent.
I tried 2 but that didn’t work out well. Had to take the one out and just hope for something. Lol
May bring it in and put a regular full spectrum plant light on it. It’s not bright but it may help some.
I had forgotten i had it, would have been easier starting them.
Oh well, my memory is shot. Too many concussions, car wrecks, broken neck, back in several places, multiple other broken bones and surgeries.
Cannabis is the only thing keeping me alive. That and the ol lady.
Wanna find a really strong strain for pain. Not found it yet but that watermelon og is supposed to be good for it. We shall see, i hope.

Definitely work within your budget. I would personally get these ladies grown and a week or two from harvest before I worry about a 2nd tent.
You may find a better deal on a light meter with less options if you want, I got that one because it also let’s you see how much UV your lights give off if I ever decide to do UV stressing targeting buds with UV to increase terpene production in flower but that’s a few grows down the line for me.
Good luck finding the perfect strain for your pain, that’s kinda what I’m doing but mine is more so for anxiety and depression caused by too many factors beyond my control. My family keeps me here and the good ganja keeps me from blowing a gasket on some poor unsuspecting stranger. My buddies and I have had great experiences with a slightly late harvest Maui Waui with 30%ish amber tricombes (the couch lock color) and whoooo weeee that stuff will take your legs away from you if you aren’t careful.
If you need me I’m just an @ away, just don’t expect flawless knowledge as I am also just beginning my growmance with the good herb.

There are more than a few schools of thought on how many plants per sq ft. I use a 2’4’ and generally grow 2 plants at a time. Both plants are in a competition. I am in the middle of my first time with just one plant in this tent and the plant has grown like crazy. The plant has it’s own private grow space and is responding well!
Those look healthy. But as they grow they are both going to compete for light. You can train them with pruning, FIM, SCROG, whatever, to make sure both get the most light as possible.
Don’t forget airflow. That’s essential for good growth and flower production. As they get into flower up both the exhaust and tent fans. That will help growth and fight mold and rot.

My plan is to get this one done and get the kinks and all the nuances down as well as i can. Try to learn with 1 auto at a time. Be easier to learn, not as much harvest but dispo is close but high as hell. Ugh
I figure this one will be ready sometime in Dec. After i harvest it I’ll start another inside and transplant when ready.
I figure that 2 auto runs will help me learn some, at least confident enough for the 4x4.
Also, it’ll prob take that long to get all I’ll need for the bigger one.
No rush here, just want to make sure i do it right and get a decent harvest.
I’ll check out light meters, i found one that wasn’t too high, it should work I’d think.

Here’s today’s pic after i trimmed a few fan leaves. I had forgotten i turned it, couldn’t get it right to match the pic that was drawn for me the ones to trim.
I just did my best guess, tried to not take too many off and let it grow for a bit before anymore.
Unless I’m told other wise to trim more, I’ll wait. Great group with great help, people and info!!!

Here’s some not to pluck but to tuck. You also may want to bush out your colas a bit by tying them downwards an inch to get more light to the secondary bud sites. You can tuck the red circled fan leaves or ignore the one fan leaf over the blue circle and tie those ones down a bit. We like big bushes indoors and we like tall trees outdoors.
Look at it straight down and make sure you can see all the colas you want to grow upwards, otherwise they will grow outwards because if you can’t see them they can’t see the light that well

Thank you for that info! Soon as i can find my string and the light will kick back on at 8pm, I’ll get it tied and hopefully the right way.

Yes, that perspective does help see the big picture a lot better. My tent is so small and my back and neck are horrible, hard for me to get in and get a better pic. I guess i could but didn’t think of it till you showed yours. Also just remembered i have a cpl blink cams, have to look and may put one in there.
I was out this morning for a second to check if it needed watered. Didn’t have my phone on me and too far to walk back in and get it.
I did trim a few fan leaves but still gotta get it tied down.
The weather is finally clearing up and i should start moving a bit better.
I hope so anyway, been a rough stretch that got me down for a bit.

I’m def hooked on learning this and getting it down.
I’ve talked to a cpl people about a light. It’s within my range, barely but is.
I think it’s a 360 watt but can’t remember. I know it’s great in a 4x4, my buddy runs several in his.
He has 3 or 4 of those along with other more expensive in his set ups. He got these several months ago and said his autos look really good and about to harvest.
Big, nice set ups. He’s the kind that avoids social media, smart phones, old school not so much paranoid as careful hippy. He’d have a rotary phone if he could. Lol.
If he lived closer or would/ could debt pics it’d help and I’d share but he’s dead set against it. LOL

Finally was able to do a little work, hard as hell in that little tent. Hope too be moving soon as this one is done to a 4x4.
I tied several stems down that looked like they were gonna bud and got rid of a few fan leaves.
I figure it’ll look rough for a few days buy will bounce back quick, i Hope.

She’s looking daymn fine! Give her a few days of rest and you should see massive growth on the lower bud sites.
If your friend is willing to share his hard earned tips and tricks with you, soak up his years of experience. He will have much better advise for a minimalist setup judging from your description of him, a good old salt of the earth kind of guy, cautious but collected.
I’m also just starting out, these plants are the first ones I’ll ever be harvesting, but I am absolutely hooked… just walking into my grow room puts the biggest smile on my face. I really like reading all about the current growth stage I’m in and if I see conflicting information or just something catches my attention I can’t help but digging deeper.
Anyways, she’s stunning and you should be very proud of her, I’ll see you in a few days after the rebound!

I’ll def give her a few days of rest, may need watered tomorrow but that’s all I’ll do and let her do her thing.
That post made me smile. My very first tent grow with a cheap tent and light.
Next will be a better set up.
I’m so happy they are looking good and healthy. Makes me feel good and def appreciate all the help from here. It’s been a ton of info that I’ve learned.
I redid my vent set up, the first way was stupid after looking at it. lol
I put it thru the top opening, perfect sense, why i didn’t before.
Oh well, it’s prob doing a lot better now.
I’ll be back soon with hopefully a lot bigger, better pic.

Edit: he’s pretty good helping me but does nothing but outdoor grows.
He’s the one that taught me how to grow outdoor but he’s not a tent fan. He likes them to get tree sized. lol
Next summer, I’m gonna get with him and plant some together.

Hey, just wanted to share my fresh trim, my lights are off (just my supplementary lights on rn) to cool down and de-skunk the room. Kept it minimal, trim up the bangs some ladies like perms, some like mullets, and some like the lollipop bowlcuts… get a Lil Bob Ross with your girls, so long as they keep growing its all happy little accidents.

I’m the same way, if the lights off, no entry. I’ll use a supplmental light also when checking or watering.
Gonna peek tomorrow to see if need watered but trying to wait till sun or Mon to get pics. Letting it de-stress a bit.
