My Humboldt Abode

Daiso Burlington WA had similar.
Love the comfort fit (either hand, either way), extended reach and sharp.

Yeah I was using the Fiskar with springs before. I have carpal tunnel and arthritis and figured that would be easier on the hand. These have zero resistance and shorter travel though which has been a huge game changer. Plus the handles are easy easier on the grip. 10 stars, will never go back.

Finally finished trimming last night. Smaller branches were sitting around 15% on the moisture meter and it’s now day 10 of the dry. Tent has been sitting between 62-65 F and 60-61 RH. Tried a little tester joint from the miss clippings on Evie, and already very smooth with a great flavor. Potency was also good with a nice combination of head and body.

The clones didn’t love the tent switch mid flower. I adjusted the light down honestly lower than I want but based on their leaves it’s the right intensity if not a little high. I assumed they might be in lockout too because of the deficiency signs and did 2 plain water feedings. Turns out they were actually super hungry though. Mainly nitrogen deficiency which I’m great with at this stage, but some phosphorous deficiency showing through too. Interesting to see the delay in the bud development on those with P deficiency though and really cool to see the little flowers pop individually more. I resumed feeding last night to try and get the last flowers to pop. Also did a big defoliation on anything starting to brown and to refocus energy to the flowers instead of fading leaves. Guessing they’ll harvest either this week or next. Will start monitoring trichomes in the next couple of days.

My Afghan Autos, burned thru nutrients and look like yours.
Now I am using Jacks RO
Congrats on your harvest. Yes, clones often are not happy (like Mrs. Daisy).
Jar time.
My jars are now done burping and its age time now.

Awesome looking grow, you have there (regardless of color).
Bugs are worse. I still battle against them in my tent.

Thanks! Yeah I’m going to try organic this next grow. I couldn’t believe how much they were feeding honestly which is why I assumed had to be lockout. Just pulled it all from the dry racks. Was 15% on the meter yesterday and jumped down to 10 today. They’re sitting a little low in the grove bags but I’ll let everything stabilize overnight before I burp them to a boveda. Ended up with 18 ounces on the main girls. A little less than I was hoping but still pretty happy with it.

A journey (shared) for Autos and Photos, Both Side, by side, growing.
I was fortunate to find forum friends and share.

Stay with the soil you learned, or prepare for new learning.
Thats another thread, of forum shared experiences.

Yeah I’ve already been doing a ton of research in preparation for the switch to living soil. My wife has enough of have watering and mixing nutes. She said if I didn’t cut my time I’d have to cut back on grows. It’s pretty similar though really, but you have to top dress 2 weeks in advance of nutrient need shifts. Then I just overfeed honestly once a month and let the plant tell me when it’s finished.

I’m going to try a local guys (Country Roots) living soil. Debating on whether to use his teas or the build a soil regimen with it. I’ve got two Autopot Tray2Grows and the buildasoil custom beds for them. I am going to basically just follow along with Buildasoil as they do more with them. It seems like Autopot control valve through veg then dry back, then flip, and then weekly like 12 hour dry back through flower is roughly the way. Then just monthly top feeds of tea or the craft blend.

Go for it.
I tried, but I like chemical mixing (lung room time), I guess.
I have some

But like the FFHF the most, maybe.

I been trying different soils, too.
Best wishes

Would love thoughts before my living soil purchase switch. Trying to keep it simple as possible. Doing a mix of a local guys minerals and compost with some buildasoil essentials mixed in.

I basically want to heavy top feed in the Tray2grows. Hoping to really only feed 3-4 times a grow.

Buildasoil essentials I’ll be grabbing.

Rootwise trio
Big 6
Quillaja 20
Montana Silica
WDG3000

Local Amendments with links and pictures. If you see any major holes in missing would love to know.

Grow Minerals

Bloom Minerals

Compost

Living Soil

Also plan on getting their bokashi, cover crop, and oat mulch.

Will also be doing 50 red wigglers maybe per? I’m not really sure on number but they don’t sell them smaller than 100.

So anything major missing? I know y’all get a ton of these and either way super appreciated.

I’ll let the other 2 chime in Grow Bro, I have basic knowledge and experience experience with the organic style of growing. Coco, Hydroponic with synthetic fertilizer is my wheel house :love_you_gesture:

Thanks! Yeah I saw you had done some in one thread or another. You’ve been driving this bus though and man I’ve been having a ton of success because of your guidance. Always appreciated!!!

I am pretty simple. Whatever unammended or light ammended potting soil. Worm poo. Worms. Southern earthworms. They take the heat. Perlite. Epsom. My dry ammend. Some kind of life builder. Reuse over and over. Just reammend nutes and perlite. I still have worms after 2 years. They are great for life.

Thanks! That’s the exact kind of approach I’m going for. I think I’ll be doing a similar feeding program. Worm castings with the minerals.

I think the buildasoil big 6 is basically just amended epsom.

Then I grabbed their silica product for late flower to help with trichome structure.

The Quillaja is their surfactant.

Rootwise is their myco/micro blend which I believe is one of the most diverse available. I’ve read that micro biodiversity is the biggest boost for just overall terpene development. So figured add that to the worm poop and I should have a super diverse culture.

Have you had issues with the red wigglers in the past? Buildasoil recommends them for top feeding because of the way they focus on the top stratum. I read earthworms were great too, but was probably just going to grab one type to start.

Red wigglers, southern fishing worms. Whatever can handle getting warm. Canadian die fast
1 of my Uncles had a bait shop in rural Alabama. The worm bins had dirt I would kill for today. 45 or more years ago. I have 2 year old reused soil. Still have live worms. I put all the pruning back in and they just eat it. The soil is very rich and I probably will pass on an ammend potting the clones. Hit them mid veg.

I also have 1 bin always full cooking. 30 gallon. When I pot 10 clones I will use it. As flower tent harvests THAT soil goes to bin and cooks. Clones to flower. Any auto go in flower tent 12/12 start to finish. Just how I do it to stay lazy.

Yeah I was going to have a bed out of rotation for re amending. I was going to mainly do the living soil in the big beds and then probably amended coco for starters and clones. I like lazy man, too much going on right now for much more anyways.

Man weed is easier than it seems. Hit just a FEW targets and it flourishes. For me anyway.

I hit the right combination, once, in 1982.
It got me hooked, for life
Then life got me.
Still climbing the mountain, one day at a time, uphill, I hope.
Now learning the controls for growing weed.
Outstandingly good weed is the goal.

Here we go again! Dropped in 2 Jelly Donutz (Gaia and Hera) and 2 Caramel Cream (Iris and Jasmine) from Humboldt Seed Company today as a birthday celebration.

Picked up all of the living soil kit too and will get the beds setup this week. The wife even gifted me the ecowitt setup that Buildasoil uses as a birthday gift and a way to travel more for herself. I grabbed the top and bottom soil moisture probes and 2 wittflow. Sounds like it’s really only needed in flower if at all, but either way I struggle with watering habits and extremely relieved for all of that be be getting monitored and automated.

Really excited jumping into the new method already and excited to see the end results for flavor. I feel like with heavy sulfur I was able to pull almost too much flavor out of synthetics. They’re evening into something very nice following the cure though and really interested to see how it compares.

Smoke report on the Humboldt Dream if I forgot it. Has kind of a deep red spiced wine flavor to me. Very nice heavy clearing head high that lasts a few hours with a medium plus body high that starts off subtle but builds into a little lock by the end of the day. Definitely a good all around day smoke and will be running clones some time in the future. Also plan to pop my last 2 of their seeds to see what I get. Their clone mothers are holding up to my poor care well too.

Also ordered a float valve, tubing, and a pressure tank for my RO so that I can run it down to the basement right into the 25 gallon flexitank. I’ll fill and drain it, float valve is more to just to avoid stoned overflow forgetting about filling it and it came with a decent amount of tubing. It’ll be super nice to not have to wait for that thing to fill a 2 gallon bucket 4 times 3 times a week. Grabbed a bundle with a remineralization filter too, so no need to even buffer the tank. Just plain water and monthly top feed feels kind of unbelievable but I’m excited to see what happens.

Really excited kicking off the new grow.

3 seedlings have popped so far. Hoping the last pops soon. Plan on transplanting to bud cups in the next couple of days. Will drop another seed if it hasn’t popped by then.
