I gave friend of mine a ‘Clone’ from my first plant, and it is doing well. He in turn gave me a ‘Clone’ off of that clone, to me. My question is, as this ‘Clone’ of mine starts to mature and grow, there are Many smaller leafs coming on, and it look like it might get to “Bushy”. How may leafs should I cut off, to be sure this plant does well, and not just turn into an uncontrollable BUSH. Thank you all in advance. Scott
A pic sure would help. But as it grows, where those leaves are coming out will either be branches or later budsites. If she’s small, I let them grow for a bit and see which branches are the strong ones. I also drill holes around the lip of my pots so I can attach wires and pull those branches out and down, opening up the middle. As she grows, then you can see what needs to come off for airflow and light penetration. Those branches I cut off become clones to give back to your buddy who should be finishing his pant and looking for a replacement. Good to get a continuous grow with help of buddies!
Clones can get unruly at times. Nodes appear everywhere it seems. You’ll have to make some determinations about your grooming while being mindful that you need her solar panels to create the energy she needs.
