I’m new and need some help.
I purchased apotforpot mini and used my discount to purchase some OG Kush seeds from ILGM. Everything was going fine. Day 7 - sometime overnight my cat ate the leaves that were sprouted. I have photos before and after.
My question… Can I reuse this pot for another germinated seed? If so, should I remove the remaining sprout?
Thank you in advance for the advice.

You should be fine. There’s probably not much more than a tap root on it so it should all come out in one piece.

A squirrel got into my seedlings when I was hardening them off for the garden. I’d find the cat a new home. Over the years we have had cats and dogs. Love our dogs.

I took another picture to give everyone a better view. What remains is dried out. I’m germinating another seed and will take this out and start over again tomorrow.
I just hope that I can reuse all this apotforpot supplies
I’m gonna keep him. But I’ll keep him away from my plants going forward. His nickname may become Kush though.

Cats like chewing plants. Once the plants get big enough it shouldnt be to much of an issue. However, once flower begins there is nothing worse than animal hair in buds! Personally, I would let any animal in my grow area.

Thank you for the advice. I’m going to keep him out of the space. I’ll plant the new seed tomorrow!

I had this happen about 25 years ago, went to bed with nice seedlings on the kitchen counter, woke up to 2 stalks, from then on whenever I would trim my plants I would always give my cat a few leaves.

Thank you. I planted a new seed in the pot this morning. Cross your fingers.

Just a thought here, get your cat some green stuff to chew as a deterrent. I know places like PetSmart sell fresh planted wheatgrass for cats but you can grow it just as cheap for the cat. Kinda like a planted a sacrificial crop of Oriental greens in my garden and they get the pleasure of detracting the flea beetles (not a flea at all but a beetle). If you can’t keep the seedlings out of cat’s reach maybe put some orange peels dipped in cayenne around the seedlings. I hope the next round makes it!

Thanks for the idea. The little guy is going to be kept off of the patio until I can get some cayenne. We bought him one of those plants at the checkout at PetSmart and he tore it up like it offended him rather than eating it. He’s a weird little dude.

That’s a cat for you! Laughing so hard. That cat was telling you that you gave him the wrong kind of grass.

I wanted to give an update on the new seedling! It looks good. The apotforpot setup is nice an easy so far. I am in awe of the people with the skills it takes to grow and the generosity to share their knowledge.
Thank you!

I think she looks really good. I’m getting brave. Maybe I’m NOT a plant killer like my cat. I just ordered another apotforpot in a slightly larger size.

Guys,
EXACTLY TO THE DAY - the AutoFem OG Kush from ILGM showed up on time. Its beautiful! As you can see, I tried to top by reading the posts on the forum and I think I did a pretty good job. I think next time I’ll try to top even earlier.
I think I’m hooked.
Reading these forums have been invaluable. Thank you all!!!

This is a successful topping! Great job! Typically with autoflowers, we see really awesome results with Low Stress Training (LST). LST is useful to increase her space, develop more of a bushy plant, and increase your yield without the risks that come with topping.

Thank you for the feedback! I have a size 2 apotforpot and an OG Kush ILGM seed ready to go for the next grow. I’m nervous about doing LST, though.
I think I would have to do the twist-tie method because my plant moves around. In the Florida morning, she’s out on the patio soaking full sun for 5 hours. All other times, she’s in a closet with a 1000w grow light.
