My 1st indoor grow- Gelato Auto

@AfgVet

This is the picture I was basing my description off of and it’s also where I ended up getting the seed, maybe a different phenotype?

WOW! That’s beautiful! I often wonder if they photo shop stuff like that so people like myself will buy it simply based on looks🤣

I know I was wondering that myself it does look a little fake lol

Okay here’s an update on the growth both plants are doing very well and I’ve seen some very rapid growth on the Gelato autoflower.

I haven’t watered in 3 days and so I just mixed up a medium to low solution that I will be bubbling overnight and feeding tomorrow morning.

3 ml per gallon Cal mag
2 ml per gallon grow
2 ml per gallon micro
2 ml per gallon bloom

I’ve also been doing a very mild foliar spray every 3 days that just has a couple drops of grow in RO water.

I’ve been slowly turning up the light as well and I’m sitting at about 75% on this Mars hydro TS 1000 she’s staying Nice and short which means she likes the amount of light she’s getting

Does anyone think I should top that autoflower?

You can top if you want to.

Should I top it right before I do my watering tomorrow morning or should I do it now? I’m very inexperienced when it comes to topping although I did it some and probably the incorrect way on my outdoor first grow
Thx🙏

If you have time, you can do it now. That way you won’t forget

So after doing the topping and giving her some nutrients it looks like it might have burned it a little bit so I will probably be watering with no nutrients and maybe just a little bit of molasses mixed into the water on the next feeding. Also it looks like the spot that I cut her there’s now leaves coming out of it is that normal?

She looks fine! You may have FIMmed rather than topped but that’s a good thing in my book.

I agree with you :100:! That looks like a great FIM

Does it look like I’m having an issue with leaf burn? I know it’s just the very tip but I want to nip it in the bud if there is a problem lol. I did recently turn up my light to 75% and sitting at 713 PPFD at the leaves. Is that too high?

It looks good to me, maybe the first leaves touch the soil sometimes? That could also cause the discoloration on the edges and the new growth is going to be pale green until it gets bigger.

Monsieur @CoyoteCody got you covered!!

I would add that just the tip burned is no problems, it just tend to show you are pushing them real close. But more than the tip = no good… imo…

You’ll see it in a lot of journals, the very tip of the sugar leaves look burned… it’s intentional… just a way of knowing you’re feeding enough, (once again, it’s only my experience with no scientific facts to back me up…)
