Here I’ve got a Fastbuds AF mystery strain on day 47 from seed. This variation is from the lowest side branch and is larger, and flat. Budsites are forming on the stem. Its my favorite specimen at the moment. I’ve got rare cactus that do something similar that’s called cresting but not sure if they’re related instances.
Cool. A polyploid.
See them every once in awhile on the forum.
Never had one myself but a few around have had them fairly recently.
Ah, thank you for the response. Good to know the name of the mutation. Do you know anything else about it? Other than how freaking cool looking it is?
I plan on adding pics every few days in the comments
I know @Retiredoldguy just harvested one.
He may have a few words of wisdom for you about growth and such.
A quick search for it should bring a few threads up for you too.
Nice! Welcome to the forum.
Thanks SM!
Pretty wicked looking!
morning @DaveySprocket … I have grown a couple of these double headed buds…this was just harvested and the poly bud is standing up against the bowl…looks like a caterpillar at first laying on top of the bud…it smokes just fine…
Thanks! Thats exactly what it looks like, a fuzzy caterpillar or a bristle worm. I appreciate it the reply
Hi @Eric_crowley I’ve found a seed from this plant. Inly 1 so far. It looks mature. Is it viable ?
FB AF mystery bean
Hi
Polyploid plants often produce fewer but larger seeds. Some polyploid seeds may have lower germination rates due to genetic instability.
So there’s a chance it could be viable, but you’ll need to test it to be sure.
Should it go through any seasoning? Or go for it?
Just go for it if you ask me
Oddly enough, I had the same exact thing happen to me a few months ago with a mosca seeds bubblegum S1.
