Multiple Infusions into Oil

The entire kit, including everything you need to test raw flower is $400, IIRC. If it is still working the code Check15 will get you 15% off.

@Spiney_norman are you still around? I havenā€™t heard from you in awhile. You were here for me back in May when i first joined. You helped me understand all of this and i appreciate that.

Do you have pics or a video of your TLC (thin layer chromatography) work
I make infused oil and syrup for my base ingredients to make edibles
Want to test either my tincture or the oil and syrup
My understanding is the syrup is not able to be tested but the oil and tincture can be tested and i can do the math from there
I have an old kit that i never got around to trying from cannabis analytics I think

Some of my work
Go a little off the wall with the filtering

I donā€™t use TLC. I have a tCheck device that measures the infused oil. You can see it in action at tcheck[.]me

I looked this up before I started

Iā€™m using MCT oil and it can hold A LOT, thatā€™s the scientific definition LOL

Let me see if I can explain myself

I fill my infusion machine with about 1.5oz of flower and pour 32oz of mct oil

When itā€™s done, I strain it and run it over a fresh 1.5oz of flower

The oil is pretty strong but I think Iā€™m going to do 1 more to further increase potency and reduce the amount of oil needed for my gummies

@MartyMarajuanaseed ,I have been taking more time do get some things done around the house. Health issues have kept me from doing a lot of maintenance. I still check in on occasion. Probably be here more often when winter hits. Taking a short break from growing as well. Have nearly 3 lbs. on the shelves so I need to let that dwindle down some as well. Just harvested a Blue Dream back in July that smells of juicy fruit gum. Its a delicious smelling pheno that I really wish I had cloned before I chopped it down. Didnt develop that smell till it cured At least I have a half pound so I get to enjoy it for a while.

Good to hear from you. I hope your health conditions get corrected soon for you. I am getting there myself. I have a swollen left leg that i am getting checked on.
Funny you brought up about the smell you get from different strains. I have an unknown strain growing that smells like grapefruit juice. My first grow is coming to fuition and i am stoked. I cant wait to take that first puffā€¦
But, this is the mushroom thread so, Iā€™ll leave it at that.

Hey Newt, can I ask what you think about TCheck these days? Iā€™m considering buying one but seeing conflicting reviews online

I am not at all disappointed with my purchase. I did a test on some labeled dispo weed, and it came up within a % or 2.

Thanks, Iā€™m about to order one now!

Interesting thread BUT the comments about feet picā€™s mostly are socks and sandals.
Wifey sez socks and sandals are guaranteed birth control.:joy: .
We both had a good laugh over that one.

So, I tested an Alani Skunk x C99 sampleā€¦ I got 17.5% the 1st timeā€¦ Tested it a 2nd time, got 19.5%ā€¦ thatā€™s cool, within the margin of errorā€¦ I tested apple fritter x C99ā€¦ It showed >40% and told me I should dilute the sampleā€¦ I cleaned the tray and retested more from the same sampleā€¦ Again got >40% with same messageā€¦ So I took .5 ml of same sample and added 1ml of reagentā€¦ This time it returned a 9.5% resultā€¦ Now, my understanding is that I multiply that # by 3, which would be 28.5%ā€¦ Do you think Iā€™m doing that correctly? That % feels correct to meā€¦ Itā€™s pretty good flowerā€¦ I guess Iā€™m just doubtful because itā€™s registering as >40 but after dilution the result is 28

Iā€™d test again, with everything clean, and make sure to only leave it in the reagent for no more than 5 minutes. But what I would do if it was >40 again, is to simply double the regent, and test again, and then multiply by 2.

@Newt I thought about doing it by adding an extra .5 ml reagent and multiplying by 2ā€¦ On the site they also recommended dilution of .5 ml sample to 1 ml of reagent multiplied by 3, which is what I tried. Maybe Iā€™ll try another sample or two actuallyā€¦ Iā€™m curious if I dilute by a 1:1 ratio, a 1:2 ratio, etcā€¦ If the percentages remain consistent

Oh, I did clean everything in-between, I did use the same sample for multiple testsā€¦ Do you think prolonged exposure to the reagent changes the test results? Or is the 5 min time listed only a minimum?
