i haven’t been documenting environment but i check it daily. the LEC tent was always 79 to 81 degrees F and around 30 to 40 percent humid. the QB tent is always 72 to 74 degrees F and 30 to 40 percent humid.
i am very happy with the temp that the QB tent is running at and would buy another QB 550 to replace the LEC but am not willing to blow off the LEC light as that was around 750 bucks and i’m a cheapskate
Hi monkman…and I’m pretty impressed with your 6/2 light schedule…its making quite a difference in my clones growth rate…
yea, i pretty much don’t have heat problems in my veg tent, the only real reason i use 6/2 is because of the plant only using at high efficiency the light for 5 and a half hours. i have not done a comparison grow because i only have one veg tent, but by logic, 6/2 has to be better for the plants and mine have always looked great in veg, now if i can only get rid of losing most all of my sun leaves within 4 weeks of flower.
Chris from “Mr Grow It” did a nice short vid on this…makes sense…and yes my temps are way better than normal…and the DLI issue is something I’m playing with …
i see lots of folks do a “severe” trim after a couple of weeks of flower and that “might” get rid of some of the dying leaf problem. my only problem with doing this is that i believe the plant is using more nitrogen for starting the buds than it is keeping the sun leaves healthy and you don’t smoke sun leaves anyway so if they are taking nitrogen from the leaves then i don’t want to get in the way of that. i have seen lots of pics on here of people who have healthy green leaves while they are deep into flower so i know there is a way to get there. Courtney from " the treehouse" said that you can bank nitrogen in your plants by making sure they get good nitrogen during veg stage and that helped quite a bit when i was doing the supersoil. with using root’s organic soil this time i couldn’t get ahead of the nitrogen thing. i am very happy to say i will get to use a supersoil on my next grow.
I have a bit of a problem with the " super soil " as you know I build my own and I also don’t have access to the " more " referred to products discussed on this forum. I try and grow as organic as possible and yes I believe I can grow bigger buds with salt…but I will not go that route in soil anymore…
my first three grows i got 7, 17, and 24 ozs at harvest doing six plants per grow. it looks like i will be dropping back to around 17 to 22 oz’s on this grow but that is quite a step back considering i have 8 plants this grow. i don’t believe this is attributable to grow issues. i’m pretty sure it has to do with the strains. i always look at what the strains are likely to produce and took their data with a grain of salt. with the chem dog and the gorilla glue they were only about 12 to 14 oz in a 3x3 and they are looking to be spot on so i will be taking their estimates of quantity quite a bit more seriously lol
from the beginning i have only grown “organic” because i was taught that that is the best way to get the most taste to show for the plant.
i’m sure there are many great supersoils out there and the more you work on your own supersoil the better it will get. not to say that you might add something to put you back a step when adding something different but that is the best way to learn. the only problem i see with doing your own supersoil is that the treehouse got stuff from all over the world to build theirs. just as with the food we put into our bodies, the better quality the ingredients the better the finished product.
I fully agree…but I have come to the conclusion that the best I can do is to build a broad spectrum base mix…" even 2 seeds from the same cola grow different "…I try to pic up on the specific plants requirements as I grow…
