I definitely agree with Matt, I haven’t tried that many lines, but I can say the few that I’ve tried Jacks is still easier.
Thanks for the tag. I’m definitely, along for the ride
I’ve heard a lot of talk about these nutrients here on the forum, but I’m more of a dry amendments kinda guy.
My plants go outside on my family’s property that’s about 5 miles away and I don’t have access to them everyday.
Jack’s 321 is bottled nutrients, right?
What I’m seeing is dry 25lb bags of parts a and b
Nope. Jacks is dry amendment. Like seriously cheap enough to grow a few decades off one 5-10 lb bag… ridiculously cost effective and pretty much tailormade for mix it and pour weed growing.
Im not sure how it amends into soil however… thats an interesting question….
@PurpNGold74 Really? That’s interesting. I thought it was bottled nutrients. I’m definitely going to check that out after I use up all the dry amendments I just got from Down to Earth lol
I usually just buy all the ingredients from Down to Earth and mix my own “supersoil concentrate” but buying all the 5 lbs boxes at $20 apiece gets costly lol
Right!! Takes a good deal more Dr Earth. That was my first venture. Mixed my own soil and left pH shockingly low .
But after learning about topdressing and teas it worked out decent. Then fish emul (bottles but cheapish). The buildasoil dry fish emuls. Then jacks. Honestly i LOVED buildasoil. Paired perfectly with my bottled emuls. And the plants were AMAZING. But its kinda pricey and still going up. Jacks i literally got twice the amount at around a third of the cost. N use it in smaller quantities.
All that said I rotate the goodies now (except Jacks, itll get its own run shortly, hopefully a comp between the three if i can get clones down)
I’ve tried Nature’s Living Soil as well and had great results, but it’s over $40 for a 5lbs bag and I’d need a whole bag for each plant when I put them in their 30 gallon pots lol
The only Dr. Earth product I’ve tried is their Kelp meal. The thing I like about Down to Earth is they provide other amendments like their Granular Humic Acids.
I guess, if I switched to Jack’s, I could keep the Humic Acids around too.
Finally took the domes off the 3 Blue Dream auto seeds to take some pics and they’re doing great!
Seems that the microbes were the issue.
Got them outside right now, for a bit. I figured a cloudy, humid day would be the best time to introduce them to the outdoors.
Yes indeed! Cloudy days are great! Also, if you plan to grow outdoors anyway, and the climate is hospitable, its ok to prepare ground and plant seed just as you would a vegetable. If you water every couple days as needed it will sprout just fine and automatically adjust for the sun. Its just when we acclimate a plant to artificial light and transfer them under a nuclear reactor, it helps to harden them off for a week or so. Looking good though!
@Cannabian My usual method is to allow my seeds to germinate under full sun so I don’t have to harden them off. But things didn’t really work out that way with these seeds.
I am growing outdoors, but my location is a few miles away, so I like to start the seeds here at home and move them when they are ready. I’d get too anxious about leaving tiny seedlings outside by themselves for days at a time.
Update time.
Got the all the girls outside yesterday for some sunlight. The Blue Dream sprouts seem to be loving it.
Took the big 2 out to do a little more training and did some defoliating on the OG Kush.
Everything is growing beautifully!
Ayahuasca Purple
OG Kush
Skunk
Blue Dream
Hopefully, I’ll be getting at least the big 2 and the bigger Blue Dream outside in their 30 gallon pots by tomorrow.

Biy that one olant is sure yellow!
@Cannabian Yeah. That’s the bagseed. She’s been more yellow than the rest since the beginning. She’s the one that I’ve had the most issues with ph.
All the plants, other than my 3 small Blue Dreams and the clones are on my family’s property now, and will be put in their 30 gallon pots today. I’m seeing rain in the forecast for the next 3-4 days. So, hopefully, she’ll start to look better being in a more natural environment!
When I have a nasty ph shituation or any kinda deficiency. The easiest fix is a soil replacement. The concept is this, if you have a plant existing in sub par strata, remove it and place it into a known quantity, ie give it healthy well drained soil. The roots will abandon the sub par soil and populate the heathy stuff. Works every time. Only disadvantage… need bigger pots and good soil.
@Cannabian Already on it!
Took the bigger girls outside yesterday to be put in their final pots.
Ayahuasca Purple, OG Kush, Skunk, and the oldest Blue Dream auto were all put in their 30 gallon pots.
The 3 tubs on the right will be my cousins plants. He’ll be adding another too. And I’ll be adding 3 more tubs in the center for my clones and the rest of the Blue Dream autos.

We did some weed eating out at the field yesterday, but made sure to leave all the Blackberry canes!
No way would I be able to keep my outdoor plants from tearing themselves apart if I manifolded them like that. Its ideal for an indoor show though. They simply wouldnt be able to hold themselves up.
My grandpa has all kinds of tomato cages at our disposal. I plan on supporting the manifold and the OG kush before they get too big.
I wanted to experiment with one outdoor manifold this year. Hence, why I didn’t train all of them this way.
The Skunk, Blue Dreams, and all the clones will be allowed to grow naturally, but will still probably need some type of support at some point.
I’m just a newbie here but I feel like I should post this as reference to the tomato cages cause they can simply be turned horizontally and used in a scrog sort of method based solely on the training and regardless of indoor or outdoor. Which if you think about it adds another layer to a stealth grow if you grew it horizontally like a vine and scrogged the whole way with tomato cages…(kinda my plan next year)…and to anyone who has done this with actual tomato’s they just might tell you it helps in every way, as my tomatoes are already almost 5’ and are just starting to produce.
Panels to the left and can to the right as reference in height:
Please note I have not implemented this yet as this crop includes my old ass mother and she wouldn’t let me do anything my way hope this helps in your creative quest
