Maybe Time To Try Out My New Bendy Things?

Appreciate that Brother and right back at ya :love_you_gesture:

It’s hard to drop alkaline soil. Like @OGIncognito said, flushing is the most convenient option. Next time check soil prior to using. There are amendments you can use to lower the acidity. I haven’t messed around too much though…
Most amendment options take time, and or need to be fully amended into the medium. Can take months.
Most research brings you to outside in ground corrections over a large area…

@anon34311147 is also going through this. He is trying out this:

This is sulphur based. A common option for lowering acidity in soils. Basically any sulphur will work but varies on degrees of safety and time.

Getting organic matter into the soil will help drop pH.

Used coffee grounds/used filters
-can drop pH over time and provide a source of nitrogen. However I’ve read that this isn’t very effective because it’s pH at around 6.8.

Vinegar
-1 cup to 1 gallon of water. Never tested this, so research.

Canadian sphagnum peat moss
-peat is naturally acidic. But most of the stuff in stores has been “washed” to fight its naturally acid values. From reading you want it to say it’s from Canada, and amend completely.

Sulphuric Acid
-yep battery acid. Yep it’s dangerous. Yep. Yep… stay away. Lol.

Aluminum sulfate -no experience

@Budbrother might have some tricks up his sleeve for making planted soil more acidic. :man_shrugging:

5.9

That should drop the pots around range by the next day or two before it starts rebounding, if pots are over limed.

If not caused by over liming pot, it should stay in range with additional tweaks to pH through weekly adjustment. As any grower has to do.

Aluminum Sulfate is great at lowering pH. Probably best left outside though.

Sulfuric acid is used for pH Down, but it’s very diluted in them bottles.

I’m adding about 2.5 ml/gal to drop my 7.2 water down to 6.4-5 range

Be careful on how much nutrients you add tjat cause tje pH to rise. Like Silica for instance, i was really dosing my plants good with Silica and its raising my pH because i am overdoing it, 16 to 17 ml per 3 gallons. I would pH the feed to 6.5 but it still is causing rhe pH to rise… i was over doi g it… be careful, its all a delucate balance

Thank you
That was a couple years ago.
This is everything I have going right now.

That’s a 4x4 space with 9 photos “clones” in autopots with coco-coir and perlite.

Two auto flowers in soil in the 2x4 space beside the clones. The tent is 4x6 total.

3x5 space with 2 auto flowers that I breed on the sides and the middle is the Black Sugar photo period that the 9 clones in my big tent was taken from.

Gorilla Girl clone scrog in a 3x3, its lights out so that’s just 1 quick picture as it’s only a couple week’s since flip.

And lastly this is a 1.5x3 with 2 black sugar clones and a Gorilla Girl I keep going very slowly to take clones from.

Idek if I’m on one of my threads anymore. About to just go back to sleep. Sleep is good rn. But honestly, idek if my meters are working correctly. 1 says one thing and the other something different. Put them into solution and they both are the same. Go figure. So could be that. Who knows. My backer got ticked about some personal shit and backed out all the way saying it’s my baby now. So I’m likely going to just do my best with what I have and if I wind up with anything that’s great and if not that’s just how things go for me. I have a nice credit coming from some that didn’t germinate so I can start fresh next month. Maybe get some autos and see if I have better luck. And I do have a few friends that might be willing to out up some cash for some good soil. I am looking toward next time at this point. Ashamed to even share pics now. What we need is a yard sale forum where people can sell the stuff they’ve grown out of so po folks like me can make sure we have better equipment. Lol! Sounds like a great idea to me. Anyway, we shall see what happens but I’m done stressing over it. A person can only sleep so many hours before sleep just won’t come anymore and I never much cared for it anyways. 3 or 4hrs a day is wwhat I prefer. Pretty sure my dogs are even sick of all of this.

@Karen If you had some coco-coir and perlite and synthetic nutrients I about promise you if you can get one past the seedlings stage you csn grow a nice plant.
Soil is great font get me wrong, but coco-coir and perlite useing synthetic nutrients is so easy.
Mix nutrients to 5.8ph and feed every day with a nice bit of runoff every time and that’s about it.
No checking runoff numbers for ppm or ph, no worries about any slurry tests, no worries when to feed because you feed every time.

It just seems like you’re having a hard time with soil and maybe soil just isn’t your style :man_shrugging:
Not a big deal, many people do good one way and not the other.
And coco-coir really is very easy to manage and doesn’t have to be watered every day, its best if it is to get that hydroponic growth rate.
But is you miss a day or 2 here and there it doesn’t hurt them at all.

My note would be that I need new meters or to at least calibrate mine again… thanks for the reminder! I feel like those can be kind of funny sometimes… don’t stress too much it looks like your plants are plenty healthy and that’s the important part!! Plus the doggos look nice and content as well! Enjoy your rest and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day!
