I trust the production is going well - I have been tuning the process for a few months now. I have gotten the process to a point where I do not need to attend it 100% of the time. The longest stage is the purging of the extraction solvent.
Two pieces of equipment that I utilize and have seen mentioned a few times are the Magic Butter Machine (wash process (plus)), water distiller (recapture solvent (cost savings and time savings). Heat plate/magnetic stirrer for the purge (upgrade from the coffee pot).
Do you use, burning some (purged) on a pin to see if it still spatters - apparently indicating as to whether or not you still have solvent left in it.
I have trialed using MCT to “cut” the RSO/CCO just ever so slightly - just to make it simpler to draw into a syringe - the difference for me is that I store it in tiny 2ml bottles and dosing is via a tooth-pick (dipping into the CCO) - amount is easily adjusted by how many dips you use (one or two for example). I used 1ml of MCT to the purged content I extracted from 30 grams of bud - seemed perfect. Can easily draw into my glass syringe and expel into the bottles.
Everyone using the MBM and countertop stills for your RSO: cooking the poopicaca out of your wash is detrimental to all the goodies. Yes, if you want to decarb you’re going to have to heat before or after processing, but not during. Also, most countertop stills heat too high.
Yes, you definitely get product and it works, but can get better product without overcooking your materials at every step. Just a thought.
