I just noticed this on my purple cookies seedling. If you see, the main stem splits at the 3rd node for 2 tops. I had planned to mainline her but now im wondering if this is a blessing or a loss. Any advice or experience on how to approach this? Thank you!
Looks like a blessing to me depending on what you are wanting to do. Dealers choice.
It’s a harmless genetic anomaly.
Another random wierd super cool thing I have never seen. Agree with Dan, gonna be top heavy I would think. She is an over-achiever.
Bob Ross used to call them happy little mistakes. I have a similar plant going now…stalled a bit…but then it took off and is doing well.
I have one now that did the same and her split node is looking exceptionally healthy in stretch. Not sure if it’s because of the same or different mutations, but my plant is trifoliate as well. I’ve read it’s a pretty common mutation but I still made a couple clone mothers from her because of the potential for increase yield.
Im going for it then. Im gonna try to LST the 2 stems and see if I can somehow mainline those and end up with a behemoth. I put a toothpick to wedge em and start them diverging early on. Thanks for the advice guys!
Hell yeah Growbro im excited for you. remember pics or it didnt happen lol
It’s a natural 2 header and nothing to worry about. If you keep cuttings from that plant and breed it with others you might encourage the 2 headed gene in other plants.
A 2 headed plants means you get 2 main colas and 2 decent sets of flowers. You can also use the 2 main stems to make a screen of green (scrog) and not have to cut the plant to get the 2 main stems. This means the plant can grow faster whilst giving you 2 main stems to make the scrog.
There’s no drawbacks to a 2 headed plant. Two heads are better than one
