Magnesium (or other?) deficiency, perhaps?

Hey everybody!

Here is the Gorilla Zkittlez clone that I had to transplant from soil to hydro a little over a week ago. She’s definitely gotten bigger, so, I’m fairly certain she’s slowly but surely taking to her new grow medium and not dying, but was wondering if this looked like magnesium (or calcium?) deficiency? These dark spots and slight yellowing appeared a few days ago on some of the lower sets of leaves. The new leaves ironically enough seem really green and healthy. I haven’t really given her nutrients just yet so I know it has nothing to do with nutrient burn, but I’m a complete newbie, which is why I’m asking you vets!

Thank you so much for your help!

Ph water at 5.8 for hydro. Make sure its stable.

Is it in a net basket ? Dwc ? Keep water 2 inch below bottom of net basket.

Start with that as a ph issue can cause a nute lockout and issues.

Thank you so much for your reply, brother. Definitely not a pH issue. I make sure to test it all the time. The Advanced Nutrients (Micro/Grow/Bloom) does a great job at keeping the pH around 5.5. I’m using rockwool as a medium (passive hydro, wick method). My other two girls are doing great, hoping to save this one before switching the others to flower.

Having a 5.5ph is more then likely locking out your magnesium and calcium. Hydro need to stay around 5.8 to 6.0

Hmm…I’ll definitely have to do some more research, because even Robert Bergman in his blog says hydro pH should be 5.5, and Advanced Nutrients purposefully calibrate to 5.5. I’ll definitely have to study up. My other two plants are monsters and vibrant green, and I’ve been using the same nutes. That’s why I’m wondering if it’s just dying and not taking to it’s new grow medium after the transplant. So much more confusing than I ever thought it would be! lol

I really appreciate your feedback, brother. Much respect!
