Low’s Grow pt 2 (closed)

Say less brotha just ordered one lol ill go pick up a cheap 30-40 gallon trash can tomorrow to act as a reservoir and get to filling it up if anything ill set the dehumidifier above the trashcan and run a hose to it so it just empties into it nonstop and I don’t have to constantly dump it but keep an eye on it so that she doesn’t overflow

That’s exactly what I would do. It’s the perfect set up with no worries.

Now with the UV light do you run it 24/7 or on a timer?

I was running mine a couple hours a day. It’s been a while but i looked at how long it takes uv light to kill fish and based it off that.

awesome so ill probably run it for 2-4hr per day to be on the safe side man is this going to save a ton of water now I’m so tired of all the dam wastewater the RO unit produces its just insane IMO lol I can almost fill a 35-gallon trash can by the time my 5 gallon jug is full that’s just unacceptable to me all tho I do give all the waste water to my outside plants so its not a complete waste

I’d imagine you could filter out that waste water also, but you’d probably burn up money in filters. Probably wouldn’t be worth your while. But the dehumidifier water definitely is. I know there is a lot of stigma around it but it’s perfectly safe if you handle it accordingly.

See I’ve always been afraid of trying it due to the stigma around it so never bothered lol and hell ill probably ditch the RO unit at this point, man, I can get more water from the dehumidifier per day than I can that RO unit lol I also won’t have a shit ton of waste as well haha although I know my RO filter are old and need to be changed that would definitely help but I tested the dehumidifier water a little bit ago and its dam near the same if not lower than my RO water lmao

Yeah man. It’s perfectly safe as long as it’s clean. :call_me_hand:t3:

Your girls look amazing! How many feeds are you doing per day on flowering plants? I’m doing twice at the moment because I’m still hand feeding but would like to get an auto feeding system up and running early next year. When at home all day ill do 3 feeds / day. So much run off but the garden plants and neighbours plants love it lol

Heck yeah food pics still coming. I do all the cooking at the house and your pics are very delicious looking and sometimes dinner ideas :yum:

Good Evening Cultivators,

Two Hippies are walking down a railroad track stoned. One Hippie says “This is a really long f_cking staircase!” The other Hippie says “I don’t mind the stairs, it’s this low f_cking handrail thats killing me.”

The system feeds 5 times a day. 8am 10am 12pm 2pm and 4pm. Throughout veg and flower.

Run off gets removed 1-2 times per day depending on the plants demand. The amount of nutrients I go through is wild. 60-80 gallons a week.

Run off is an awesome option for other plants. :call_me_hand:t3:

I really appreciate that! I love the simple things. Growing, food, alcohol, and guns! Lol

I try not to be busy, but it is what it is. Thank you for the reminder!

Guys! I almost missed this.. sorry! Most my time is spent on the journals section here. :grimacing: it’s time to vote on journal of the month. @Ebb (RIP) suggested it!

Full disclosure, my journal was mentioned here. I don’t feel like I deserve it. My interaction with you all is more than enough.

Ah thanks, I discovered frequent fertigatoon when @Hellraiser mentioned it so I looked it up and it made so much sense eliminating salt build up in the coco. I go through roughly 80L / day of nutrient at this point, draining into buckets. Fortunately I have 2 rooms so opening and closing tents isn’t an issue. Need to connect up a drainage system with polyurethane tubing to drain into a drum outside. I usually dilute the run off with water before feeding the garden. Love your food pics too!

Appreciate you. Yeah the run off… the run off… ugh. Hate that part. Tables in my future.

86° with 75% humidity digging 18x43” holes through solid earth by hand… ughhhh.

Hope everyone is having a good day.
