Lotus Nutrients FTW

That’s what I like. May have to try them out one day.

2 weeks ago I visited my semi local grow store (23 miles away) to buy some advanced nutrients (base nutrients) as I was almost out and Amazon has boosted them up to $50 from $32

The gentleman at checkout asked me why I used the advance nutrients. And begin to tell me that he’s used general hydroponics for 2 years now and there’s not a better nutrient on the market as long as you flush once a month to eliminate the salt buildup.

It’s funny that you say you use it as you’re the first person ever that I’ve heard used general hydronic nutrients on this forum.

I use some of their additives. (Cal mag/pH up and down) and I’ve never had an issue. Could this be the best kept secret nutrient line?

They sell the 1 gallons trio (3 gallons) for $48

I’m seriously considering doing a side-by-side grow comparison with GH and AV hmmmmm

I’ve used Canna line nutrients since the beginning. They are great but incredibly expensive.
I tried Lucas but didn’t like it from day one.
I’ve been Jason GH since the beginning of this grow.
My plants are huge and are doing great. I love the stuff. It’s cheap and easy.

GH trio with silica and Calmag.

I am new to growing and on my second grow and have heard great things about lotus nutrients I used fox farm prior and wasn’t a fan. I bought the 4 pack to begin with but was wondering if I need anything else besides ph up and down to help with my grow. And just to make sure I’m understanding I just sprinkle the powder on the top of the soil and water it?

Sorry I just saw this. If using Lotus you want to mix it into your water. They have a feeding chart that should tell you how much per gallon etc. the only other thing I use is Cal Mag ( can use Lotus version or any other) and I also use Bud Candy from advanced nutrients which isnt necessary but it’s cheap enough and I figure sugar can’t hurt so I use it every other watering or so throughout the grow.

As @GrowingIs4Everyone said mix it up with water. Its good stuff. I have a chocolope growing in a 5 gallon bucket now. It love Lotus. I feed exactly how the feeding chart says too no extra’s.

I got their starter set from gorilla grow after ordering their 5x5…

Do I follow their feeding schedule even if I’m growing in fox farms ocean blend??? Or should I use a different soil.

Thanks!

@Bamarayne

Are you using in coco? I am w autos. Curious on your schedule?

I’m running a RDWC hydro system. I have up on lotus pretty quickly because i didn’t like how difficult it was to dissolve completely.

If i was still in coco i would certainly give lotus a full grow trial.

Thanks. I’m I’ve got some lotus hanging around. Might try it but the not dissolving thing would bother me too

Lotus is what I plan on going to. I’m still new to this and ordered Gaia green buts it’s expensive and hard to get here. And I can get lotus easier and seems a million times easier to use. And the outcome seems fire with lotus. I’m running with soil and I was looking at the charts for lotus and their website. Is the feeding per gallon of medium or ?

@Cowboy357
Hopefully im allowed to post this link. It will answer your questions.
I use Lotus and it does really good.

I seen that buddy. So would I mix to the gallon of medium I have or gallons of water ? Like Gaia I mix to how many gallons of soil I have? Would be the same thing?

I mix mine to the gallon of water.
@Cowboy357
This is the plant Im using it on. Chocolope by twisted collectibles. Around 9 weekd now.

The chart is for a gallon mixture fed once a week, with water in between. I feed every watering so they always have a full buffet on their table. Mine dry out usually 3 times a week, so I run my feeds at .4 EC every feeding. I water to about 20% runoff and check ph and ec of runoff once a month or so to make sure they are eating and nothing is off in the root zone. I ph my feeds to between 5.8 and 6.2, letting it vary feed to feed. I am running Promix BX and add about 25% more perlite and a fine powdered Dolomite lime at 2 tbls per gallon of medium. A handful of wood ashes from the fire pit doesn’t hurt either! Most feed charts are weekly dosages, whether you feed once then water the rest or divide total dosage by feeds per week. Hope this helps and doesn’t confuse! Sorry this is late to post, I was in nooby jail til 8:30 tonight and couldn’t reply!

I have been using Lotus and love it. Do you bloom and boost through the whole flower cycle for autos? Or do you stop boost after a week or two after flower?
Also, there cal-mag is damn strong. I mean I only a fraction of what other nutrient line use. And I do a fraction, like 1/4

I used both by their chart, just at different strength as I feed every watering. I have since switched to Jacks and haven’t looked back .I grow photos inside, only outside for autos as bonus grows. I feed those with compost and ewc with Osmocote feed.
