Yeah Im ready for the cold to go away myself. Ive been lugging bus trays and buckets of tomato/Peppers/Ginger in and out for to long . Hopefully next sunday is our last cool night.
For that price you could probably find an HLG. Probably less on the bay. Thats is a decent light though. I am partial to the HLG’s though.
That’s a great light, Did you consider the SE5000 or G5000? I like that the bar style lights have a bigger footprint, and to me, that seems like it would provide greater coverage in the tent. The Viperspectra KS5000 is in that price range as well.
I was looking at the Blackbird and Tomahawk on HLG. Do you have a particular light you like for HLG?
Just started really digging in to researching the lights but I will check them out
Thank you for the suggestion ![]()
I have a 600 rspec and black one that is a DIY HLG. Ive only had the Mars Hydro to compare them to but dang they’re bright. If you search on here a bit I know there are some good light threads. It’ll be your most vital grow investment so you’re doing very well to be inquisitive and patient about it.
I have the HLG Scorpion Far Red. And the Diablo X both are 5 x5 flowering and 6x6 veg and they are worth every penny. ![]()

Aglex is another budget friendly light I have heard good things about, The M800 would be really good in that space. Or even the M600 would be more light than the others in that price range.
If I could recommend something that would make your life a WHOLE lot easier when it comes to running ANY light. GET A METER!! Guessing will drive you crazy when it comes to trying to figure out how high your light should be and at what intensity. It’s just about impossible even with the light manufacturers recommendations.
This is the one I use. And I never question my light intensity any more.
Thank you ![]()
Thank you so much for all the information I will sit down this afternoon and do some more research.
Sensors are definitely on my purchase list.
Try photone on phone before wasting 180 bucks
Oh yea i have the same one ![]()

Perfect
Hey everyone I decided to go with Mars Hydro for my lights. I have my lights/tents, soil, supplements and equipment on the way. Hopefully I can get the area completed soon and I will post my grows for anyone who wants to follow along and offer insight or support. Hope everyone had a Happy Easter ![]()
Can’t wait
you’ve had a lot of good suggestions. I’d like to add one, you’re gonna need a humidifier, of course, depending on your natural humidity levels in your area. I would suggest an automated one. Set the humidity level you want and let it maintain it. Also, as dborn mentioned, I would not get too caught up in automatics and a $10 timer works perfect for the lights. The lights and humidifier are really the only 2 things you need to have automated in my humble opinion. You can buy an automatic humidifier for around $70 on amazon. Your plants are gonna like a really humid environment during vegetation stage, like 70-75%. After flower begins you will probably be able to remove the humidifier.
