So, could some of you LED guys check this light out and tell me what you think?
The light from this actually looks yellow, more like sunlight than the Violet LEDs I’m used to seeing. New gen II light they say it is a full spectrum light each chip emits full-spectrum.
But this light is only 5000 lumens at 600 watts.
And does LED even measure by lumens or is it PAR and/or LUX… what’s the deal here, would someone please educate me on LED lights?
And is this light worth $200. If so I’m going to buy two.
It’s 124 watts so good for about 2-4 sq. feet. It really boils down to actual wattage draw and color spectrum.
I’d do this… A little more power and can be daisy chained. I have two Viparspectra 900’s and I’m really happy with them.

The VIPARSPECTRA seem to be getting popular. I recently went with something a bit cheaper, the MarsHydro 300w. So far I like it and the plants seem to like it.

@Traumamedic hey man for the actual wattage that light your looking at draws, it would be alot better and a lot cheaper for you to go on ebay and buy the 2 pack of “Mars Hydro 300 watt”
Its two 300 watt led’s that each pull about 145 watts from the outlet so your looking at almost 300 TRUE watts. The two pack will also help give you more coverage in your grow room. i just bought 2 of them myself and could not be more satisfied

I own a 300 watt version and it’s best suited for veg
The light works good just better for veg
Just a FYI the light itself is well built haven’t had any issues with it

But believe their largest light is 600 watt (haha)
I use the 300 watt version 9 band works great and for 89$ ea
I believe @Masshole uses them as well maybe he’ll give you soon input also
@Traumamedic I can’t comment on the other brands of LEDs but as @Countryboyjvd1971 says we are both using the 300watt galaxy hydro’s. I have three of them. If you watch Amazon pricing you can get them as low as $75. I’m pretty happy with the results of this grow: amnesia haze autoflower lst
you can get the two MARS HYDRO LEDS for $137 on ebay with free shipping. pretty much the same light as the galexy
Ok, so it’s a toss up…
I’ll be buying later this evening, so tell me which is best out of these two.
I’ll be buying two or three to create a larger footprint.
So tell me which one would be a better buy!

But from just my own experience I love the galaxy hydro lights they are doing a great job for me
I own 4 of them 300 watt version
I’m going to get a couple of the 600 watt version when funds become available I like them so much

The galaxy hydro has 3 watts led chips bridgelux epiled and the mars hydro has 5 watts led chips epistar so, you’ll be better with the mars hydro
However you’ll be better with 10 watts double chips (2×5 watts) epistar in the light you’ll choose, here’s some good choice :

10 watts double chips are gone a give more light penetration and most probably more yielding…
