Local Michigan No Till Living Soil Mix

I’m getting ready to make the switch to organics. I was planning on purchasing the Buildasoil 3.0 soil mixing kit but then thought maybe I should search a little locally first. I did a quick Google and found a couple of local brands. I was checking out the Country Roots Green bag, Michigan Made Mix in the white bag, and the Michigan Mediums organic mix as well. There’s not a ton of info online other than typical sales info. Just wanted to see if anyone has success with any of these brands?

@StickyFrostyBuds I see a lot of your posts mentioning the M3 mix. I’m leaning between that and the Country Roots right now. The Country Roots includes Coco which Autopot recommends but I didn’t have much luck searching the forum for success with it. Just wondering if you shopped both as well and what pushed you to the M3 if you did.

M3 sounds like good stuff but hell for me up here be a hella shipping bill, or one long ass drive round trip, it was my first go to when starting until, sorry no help there.

Yeah the shipping on most have been killing me. I think I can source the M3 from a local hydro shop but I’d probably have to go to the country Roots place. Trying to locate them now but ended up emailing them for details.

I’ll add while I typically try to shop local I’m not a huge fan of this particular shop and they tend to have sub par quality soil from inadequate storage practices which could be a huge issue for living soil.

To the Nature’s Choice store? We’re right outside of there and I’ve bought a few things there but recently it seemed like they’ve been running low on most stock.

yes that was the one, we went last winter and the lil side room was packed full, the main area had a bunch of stuff, the lady there older gave me over 45% off all the Advanced Nutes I bought, so went back and bought some of the add ons to that line. In the Onaway area

Nice! I’ll have to check them out again, maybe I just hit them at the wrong time of year. I love the AN stuff, that’s all I’ve been running so far mostly. I unfortunately bought their dry powder Sensi series right before deciding to go organic, but still might use it to quick amend while I’m learning the method.

After some digging, because for some reason they don’t have their store location posted on Google, I found out the Country Roots company is just a little over an hour south of us. Given they’re the closest I’ve found and seem to have a full inventory of the organic product lines similar to those used in the buildasoil tutorials I’m following I’m going to give them a go. Still a couple of months out but will probably start sourcing everything in the next month so I can let the soil setup for a couple of weeks before adding the plants.

They are just North of 66 junction next to Family Fare in the lil plaza on west side of 131. There was dispensery in there and a lume despo just south of it.

Thanks! Yeah they’re tucked back in there. The Farm and Home store right next to her carries the Promix HP bales for 40 bucks too which is another great deal.

I was talking about this company though, they’re an all organics shop like the Colorado Buildasoil company.
