Can i dip the buds in soap water and rinse, then continue to dry?
Welcome to the neighborhood. I don’t know enough about insects and buds. I know some on here has spoken about bugs and bud but not while they had started drying.
Welcome…
How long since the plants were chopped?
plants were chopped about a week ago,
Hmmm, if it had only been a day or two I was going to suggest a rinse in peroxide/water and soaking them for 15 or 20 minutes.
After hanging for a week, that is likely a bad idea. That said, perhaps it is worth a try if you are going loose it all to the pests anyway. Do have photos that we can look at, @Radams7531 ?
Just the thought of critters crawling out of my buds is enough for me to throw the whole thing out and try again. I am not suggesting that, just expressing my own squeamishness.
I wonder if @Oldguy @OGIncognito or @Caligurl have any thoughts on this? I have shockingly little experience dealing with pests because I grow indoors. No nature allowed in my garden. Well, not much nature. Occasionally some critters will sneak in with a batch of soil but I inoculate before planting so seldom have an issue.
I’d do a peroxide bud wash and dry again. They should be fine.
@Radams7531 Welcome to the family. Is just one caterpillar or more
Pictures would help also @Radams7531
They are still alive after a week of drying? I’d wash again but first look for them and try to remove them because they don’t always come out in the wash. They can be stubborn that way. Wash again and this time when you wash, let them soak for about 30 minutes without agitating the buds… that should encourage them to let go.
Some caterpillars get deep inside depends on what kind they are if its the little black ones they stay mostly on outside of the bud’s all depends on what species it is
