Harvest soon; caterpillar bud fight, hoping to salvage

Hi

I try to do as much research through old posts before putting my question to the forum, but sometimes I can’t find enough consolidated info for my specific need;

My plant (judging by my untrained eye) is still a couple weeks from harvest. I’m fighting caterpillars like a MF’er right now and thus bud rot.

I would love to salvage as much, if any, bud that I can since it’s my very first grow. With that being said, can I/should I clear out any bud rot now and as I see it (usually with a fat ass caterpillar beneath it), up until harvest? Then do a bud wash (once harvested)?

(I’ve tried spraying captain jacks DB a handful of times, but seeing little results so stopped esp as I’m nearing harvest - I’ve posted about this elsewhere)

Including pics. You can see how much material I’ve already had to remove.

Thank you!

At harvest I’d pull apart large colas that I suspect contain a caterpillar. Discard all plant material affected then perform a bud wash in peroxide.

You might do two things next year: add using “Safer Caterpillar Killer” to your pest control regimen. The other thing I’d do is use plant protector fabric bags. This will keep everything but aphids off of your flower.

Thank you!

So you wouldnt worry about removing the dead stuff that pulls off easily until harvesting?

I already got a small grow tent setup with a Grandaddy purp in veg. I do not want to mess with fighting and losing bud to caterpillars ha

I would. It spreads super fast and can cost you the plant if left unchecked.
