Thanks for your feedback on everything thatās been going on, Iāve been trying to problem solved a little on my own along with the advice since plants are like children, they all operate different with different conditions, so trial and error, like I said thatās why I have multiple, Iāll have 1 successful run I hope.
Any thoughts on this grow light, will it be sufficient for seedling, veg, and flower in tent, 4 plants?
Iām not familiar with that brand nor am I even close to being knowledgeable on lights but that looks awesome.
A lot of growers recommend Horticulture Lighting Group,
Yeah I thought so Amazon had it for 240 but had a coupon for 50 dollars off so I figured I can do it if itās a good light, since I gotta get my bigger tent ready to transfer one the others start flowering so they have stretch room lol
You could start a new topic In lighting and ask about it.
@Low and @Myfriendis410 are the only ālightā guys ik who could ya you out.
I think when i looked at it last night (it was very late) it uses a older style led. If im not mistaken ull want to stick with a light with LM301h or b Diodes.
Ill also work on linking lows light thread so you can take a peak at that and look at the Epic charts he made⦠now to remember how to do that
Iāll put it this way, I wouldnāt use it in my grow room. Low light thread is a good place to start. The prices are out of date and I donāt think it covers the newer line of 301 diodes, but still very useful info. All the 301 series diodes are top notch, but the newer models are slightly more efficient. Evo being the newest and most efficient. That meas slightly more Light with the same amount of electricity. HLG are the premium light with premium service, but there is the premium price to go with it. When it comes to quality lighting you get what you pay for. I would pretty much stick with known brands that will still be around in a few years if you have a warranty problem. If your trying to go a little less expensive I can personally vouch for ACIās quality and customer service. Mars hydro and spider farmer are your economy brands. I have a bunch older of mars hydro lights and they do the job, but Iām wishing I had just bit the bullet and bought some good lights off the top instead of spending thousands on lights I want to replace.
I agree with things such as price and diodes being out of date. If I had the abiliary to update old posts I would. Efficiency is negligible for most. All light manufactures post total ppf not usable ppf. In most cases anyway. My primary lights are bridgelux and I still pull 2.5 gram per watt. Not counting all the crap I throw away. On par with 301b and h. But the difference between those 2 diodes are virtually nothing.
I think for our main flowering area we are around 1600 watts of bridgelux. Have not made it passed 60% power. They do their job really well. could easily yield 7-8 lbs with them. Not bad for around $1,000
I have all sorts of brands, Iāve done warranty crap with all of them. Bad experience with mars, and will never buy from them again. ACI, HLG, and Spider have been great. HLG has done warranty work with me when I was outside my warranty. THAT is above and beyond. The only reason I havenāt been buying HLG as of late is, I hate to say it. Iām a coverage snob, and there are lower end fixtures for a fraction of the cost that do it better.
just thought Iād clarify, I too use bridelux lights right now for similar reasons. I could fill my space with them. They provide plenty of light. My problem is the uneven coverage of my MH lights. They work just fine and the price was right, itās just a gripe of mine after using them for a while and probably not something most people care about. Good to know about their customer service @Low. I prefer to stick with companies that are helpful when something goes wrong even if it does cost me a few extra bucks up front it usually pays for itself.
I got mars hydro 800 watt fixture man, the coverage is awesome. The frame is 100% junk. I worry about the lights popping off when adjusting. Mars hydro said we can send you new rails. The rails arenāt the problem, the design is. Now they changed it from 8 bars to 6 and the fixture now folds in half vs clip ins. I told them I was doing a side by side vs spider and HLG. They basically left me on read and refused to do anything. I still use the damn thing, itās decent. It just annoys the hell out of me how careful i have to be when adjusting up and down when reaching above my head over a canopy. Really frustrating bro.
I got the 600, I might have been happier with the 800 run a little higher over the canopy. All of mine have been solid. Theyāve survived a few drops with no real issues. I have noticed they have changed the design a few times over the years though. Mine actually bolt together with wing nuts like a piece of uni strut.
Yeah I have a few of the units prior to the 800 and they also have wingnuts. Imagine my surprise to find a faulty clip in system. 4 yo-yos can only do a few clicks at a time and have to keep going back n forth. So bars donāt pop off. SMH I was so mad dude. lol. Tight quarters and I have to move the heavy ass table for every adjustment. That particular model only lasted a handful of months before they changed it. I imagine it was a common complaint.
OOf, Iām mad for you bro. I donāt think they have any advantage over spider farmer anymore either. MH used to have more variety and would be a token amount cheaper but I think thatās gone too.
MH is now putting out a lesser quality product for almost the same cost as spider. Right now spider is superior. No doubt in my mind based on the products released in the last year.
Iām truly just waiting on HLG to release a bar fixture. They did- sort of. Tomahawk is it? Bro my anticipation for that was through the roof until I saw the coverage⦠Iām like literally praying for a true HLG bar fixture. That would be a scroggers wet dream. They are top dog, they just need a little push. I know they want to stand out and be different but Iād drop the cash on a heartbeat if they dropped what Iām hoping for. The warranty alone would be worth the extra cost.
Maybe one day, although I could probably make 2 720ās work in my space. Thatās a pretty good footprint for a 4x4 Iād just have to narrow the canopy just a fuzz. Thereās a small part of me that just wants a stack of solid 2x2 lights so everyone can just have their own light. Wouldnāt that just be nice.
Looking beautiful, keep up the good work
Just amazing plants, itās why I love growing them
Yeah my first time seeing them grow like this and itās making me proud, now I gotta start getting stuff to hold down the side leaves so the light can get to the middle leaves trying to come up
