Light to bud distance leds

How many of are you doing a distance different from the manufacturer recommened range? I’m running a viparspectra pro 2500 at the top range of 22 inches. The company only had a 12/12 flowers plan with 22 inches at max height but I figured since I’m running autoflower with 6 additional hours I can go a few inches past the top range if I need to does that make sense?

Download photone or ppfd. They are free smart phone apps that use your cameras light/exposure sensors to measure light pretty accurately. Photone being the higher end. But still free

They both will give you a dli for hours of light.

With leds it’s more about the light they receive than the distance. With HIDs, there’s definitely a distance that’s needed just from the heat they produce. As the others stated, check out @Nicky thread.

I run that light 12-16 inches off the flower tops, but I enrich the CO2, and the canopy is flat. Check out the DLI thread.

Are you running the exact same light at me the vipar spectra pro series 2500

If you are running the same light how dense are your buds at that distance I grow for trichome production and density. I don’t smoke so if I get any fluff it’s almost useless in the sales department. I’ve also been a hps grower so leds are a adjustment for me if your running the same light your experience would help a lot thanks.

I have 7 of the 2500, used in combination with other lights.

4 are in use on this table, in combination with 5 xs 2000.

Nice that’s some pro level growing right there. Here’s my plant 22 inches away from buds should I lower it. I’m worried about light stress light burn etc. I wanna find the optimal light distance

I usually lower 2 inch at a time, wait a couple days, make sure the plant is happy. if it looks like it responded well. then lower another 2 in. Make sure the air flow is moving in the space between the plant and the light and the tops sway a little. I wouldn’t go lower than 18 in to start out with until you get comfortable using the light with the grow environment and determine exactly how much stress that plant can take. I grow the same plant out multiple times so I have a good idea after the first couple grows how it’s going to respond every time.
