That was the approach I took in my last grow. Seemed to work out ok for me. I’ll be watching these young ones closely eve the next several days.
I agree he is not in the majority, but if its the grower I am thinking of he is one of the best on here.
The dome is a safe way to ensure the roots are developed enough to take care of the plant. And at the price we pay for seeds its important to raise the odds in our favor anyway we can.
Yea, I hear you. And in my last grow I used a tray & dome. Seemed to work out fine. Just another approach this time. Hopefully it works out as well…
I think I misunderstood a little bit sry about that.
It dosen’t really matter untill they have broken ground and have some green going on.
They get most of their moisture from the air untill they build a root system.
But untill they get some green to work with its dosen’t really matter I imagine.
Hellraiser never domes. Here is his comments if you read a few posts from this point…
Just remember I am not dissing domes. Just pointing out not everyone uses them.
Yea. As an inexperienced grower with just two sessions behind me I chose to follow suggestions from a seasoned one. “All roads lead to Mecca”, as it is said. This is the path I have chosen for this journey. If it doesn’t work out for me I’ll make note.
I’m in no position to dis anyone or any growing strategy or technique. I’m only trying to evolve as a grower and learn. Where I got into trouble in my 1st grow was shifting my approach with every piece of information or suggestion.
Which is why I elected this time to follow (as best I can) a proven strategy and commit to that for the duration.
Now, that’s not to say I’m not open to any and all info, input. Totally, I am.
So, thanks to all offerings. I’m grateful
That’s probably the best thing you can do. I don’t dome anything anymore but that’s mostly because I’m lazy . Domes definitely work and have their place. The best advice I think any of us can give you is to have fun and just simply enjoy the journey this hobby brings you. Then if you begin to have an issue that you need advice or help with, we can all be here to offer suggestions to help you work through it.
Church! Sound advice indeed. First 2 grows were all about technical - almost lab-like approach. Learning on the fly. My intention this time around is to deepen my experience with the plants. Less text books, and more intuitive training. Thanks!
I was struggling with humidity could only get it about a RH 35 so i had to use domes cause seedlings were struggling and it helped turned them around this is my first indoor grow in a pot and in a tent.
Yea, I get it. Last session (last summer) I was struggling with RH too high. Always something.
Good luck with your grow, and enjoy!
Yeah whole lot of factors to growing indoors, whole lot easier to chunk them in the ground and watch them grow.
I believe humidity is important, but I regularly germinate in very low humidity with zero issues. I’m in upstate NY. In the summer my house is heavily air conditioned to about 68F and in the winter my wood stove is my primary heat source. RH is usually a high of 40 and a low of 20. Only slow growth I get is the occasional weak seedling or sketchy genetics. This is just my experience though that for me, domed seedlings or not I get pretty fast growth.
Thanks for this. Helpful to know that when “ideal” conditions aren’t met positive outcomes are still attainable. If I can maintain an average of 50% RH until flower I’ll be pleased.
TRY EXPERIMENTING with BOTH METHODS
There will def be some experimenting this time around. But not with that. And btw, is your use of caps here for emphasis?
Vision is not what it was. CAPS are easier to see, for me.
Fingers, hands, legs, and body not working well.
Looking for CBD often
The cap button likes to interfere.
Good morning @Spiney_norman ,
So, if I want to ask another question about another topic do I just do that from this post at the bottom of the page? Sorry, but I’ma bit confused…
Yep. Post it right here
Ok. Got it. Thanks.
