I have one of the 1200 watt and 3 of the 200 watt. I would like to replace peices with each grow as i can free up some money… what would be a good budget friendly light source that i should get?
Be aware that the wattage these type lights is vastly overstated. The actual wattage of these type lights is generally only 10 to 15% of the claimed wattage.
I would find a light built with Samsung LM301 diodes. HLG, Spider Farmer, and AC Infinity all have good options.
Pic of the girls for referance…
Royal dwarf from royal queen seeds. 21 days from sprout today. So they seems to be doing good… but we can always do better
This is the free light metter im using idk how reliable it is… but with the way my lights and plants are now im reading around 500 to 600 ppfd… is that ok?
Remember that (unless running autos) your light schedule is going to drop by 1/3 once going into flower. This means you are losing 1/3 of your light right when the intensity needs to be at it’s highest.
If you run top-shelf diodes you will see an R.O.I. just on the electric bill. Plus they grow superior flower.
That’s why everyone is suggesting additional light. You’ll get a harvest but generally loose and airy flower with low weight. I shoot for 12 oz. per plant per grow, dried. But I also am running photos which usually yield better than autos. The one I’ve got going now may go 1 pound.
Look at your square footage and calculate light based on 30 watts per square foot. So; in a 4 X 4 you have 16 square feet to illuminate. So, you’ll need somewhere around 500 watts of good LED’s to properly light the space.
Whatever light you buy; determine the precise wattage. Don’t go by the ‘equivalent to’ value.
