Light recommendations new grow

Hi guys so for my first grow i went cheap and bought led full spectrum grow lights off of walmarts website

I have one of the 1200 watt and 3 of the 200 watt. I would like to replace peices with each grow as i can free up some money… what would be a good budget friendly light source that i should get?

Be aware that the wattage these type lights is vastly overstated. The actual wattage of these type lights is generally only 10 to 15% of the claimed wattage.

I would find a light built with Samsung LM301 diodes. HLG, Spider Farmer, and AC Infinity all have good options.

Looks great

This is the free light metter im using idk how reliable it is… but with the way my lights and plants are now im reading around 500 to 600 ppfd… is that ok?

Remember that (unless running autos) your light schedule is going to drop by 1/3 once going into flower. This means you are losing 1/3 of your light right when the intensity needs to be at it’s highest.

If you run top-shelf diodes you will see an R.O.I. just on the electric bill. Plus they grow superior flower.

Right now im growing autos… light schedule is 19 on 5 off

Great for veg. You’ll need more in flowering. Recommend a minimum of 800 PPFD in flower. I run my plants at 1,100 PPFD.

With what i have right now… unless the meter i use on my phone is wrong to get 1100 i need to be like 1 in from the light

A general rule is: if you can feel the heat from the light on the back of your hand when it is held at the plant level, then it is too close.

That’s why everyone is suggesting additional light. You’ll get a harvest but generally loose and airy flower with low weight. I shoot for 12 oz. per plant per grow, dried. But I also am running photos which usually yield better than autos. The one I’ve got going now may go 1 pound.

Ok i think i found it… hows this one??? The 2 pack would be nice

Look at your square footage and calculate light based on 30 watts per square foot. So; in a 4 X 4 you have 16 square feet to illuminate. So, you’ll need somewhere around 500 watts of good LED’s to properly light the space.

Whatever light you buy; determine the precise wattage. Don’t go by the ‘equivalent to’ value.

Oh wow… my room is 6.5 x 5 so i would need 975 watts… which means i need 10 of these lights

And im sorry im new to.all this… how can i tell what the actuall power draw is

See on the specs or product details, for example “uses 250W” or “consumption”

So the rated power… lol the “1200” watt only uses 24 watts and the “200” watt uses 34 watts fml

Thats off more than usual, they usually just add a 0

Well i guess inget what i paid for… lesson learned…
