You want to be able to flower on this or just for rooting and veg?
Flower only.
Can you fit 4 of them in the space allotted? If so, something like hlg-185h-c1400a would give you about 200 watt light with built in dimmer for the qb-132’s. A little bigger than necessary, but you’d never be short on light for 2x1.5 and you vould always use dimmer.
Tya sir
No problem! Quite possibly the easiest question I’ve answered here in weeks haha
$60 not bad. Like I said, still planning. Was kinda sad I can’t fit my other 2x4 to go under the other 6xqb120 I built last year. So thinking I’ll use this small table in the corner
Glad to have an easy one for ya
Thanks again
I haven’t punted you any easy ones lately huh?
Would it work if you rebuilt frame?
Not that I recall, ha! I helped enough people with those qb120 and qb 132 boards that it seems to have been eons ago, but i still remember 120’s are 24v board with ideal current around 2100ma and 132’s are 36v board with ideal current 1400-1750ma. Same with meanwell hlg 185, 240, and 320 drivers. Coincidentally the 132 boards are basically same specs as most cob’s we built with before boards/pcb modules were readily available.
Light is perfect for space, I miss measured my tables. 2x4 tables are closer to 3x5 with outside lips if I use both 2x4 tables I only have 10" in-between them. Don’t think my big ass can get in to work
So next plan was put my 2x2 table in there. Well that table is the 2x1.5
I’ll have a new room purpose built but for now gotta work with what I got
8 qb 120’s would probably do this pretty well, if you already have them.
I’ll put a tape to the inside grow box this eve @ lights on and letcha know.
But I believe 8 would rock me right. I’ve got pretty weak light at the end. Moved left ends(plants) in 6" and didn’t/don’t plant or care to on the drain end.
Front to back coverage is great just didn’t quite make it wide enough.
On hand…
2- 6Xqb120x320w+FR. 2’x3’ fixtures
1-qb120x65
4 qb120 boards
4 qb132 boards
Gotta run to town, so no rush dude
Assuming the four 132 boards are going to smaller space?
Would it be more preferable to start from scratch turning a 6x120 into an 8x120, or would you like me to find a driver to run 2 boards you can add? I guess take the measurements and let me know.
Well not sure what I’ma gonna do went to shed yesterday to measure another 2x4 instead of waiting for lights on,duuuh.
Found I had a 4x4 stacked in there too 1 4x4 may fit where 2 2x4 wouldn’t.
27"x51" is the usable grow space in my 2x4. I’m still getting use to these LEDs. So maybe I’ll stay with the 6x if you think that’s sufficient? Or Frankenstein 2 more boards?
I kinda boggled my own head at this time
6 qb120v2 at 2100ma would run a theoretical ppfd average around 875 umols/s in that space. This is right around what i shoot for for laying out my lights for personal use. It’s not squeezing every gram possible out of area, but a good balance of production and efficiency.
I’ll keep on rollin with what I got and be happy
Too cold? That’s awesome. I have the heat of the sun in my tent. Drivers out. But a/c fighting the lights heat and the dehumidifiers heat is a bear.
I’ve got a technical question(s) and sure that you can give me some solid advice on making it happen. Bear with me as I try to explain myself.
I currently have a Viparspectra XLS 1500 that uses a Meanwell HLG 150H 54AB driver. I want to add 2 up to 4 PLC strips to the XLS 1500 (board). According to info from the defunct PLC website 4 strips would need an HLG 120H C1400 driver. That’s due to the strips being run in series at 37.2 watts per strip at 1400ma.
Question is can I run the Viparspectra XLS1500 board plus add the 4 PLC strips with everything wired in “series” on a meanwell HLG320H C1400B driver? I realize the need for a bigger driver which I already have (meanwell HLG320H C1400B). Would this configuration work or is the named driver overkill for available wattage?
Hoping that my questions aren’t muddy and you can give some expert opinion. I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!
Do you already the plc strips? I’m pretty sure they went out of business and outside of already having the strips they were “unavailable”.
The hlg-320h-c1400b would run your 54v board and 4 plc strips if wired in series. Your vipar board would only run at half power it runs with factory driver though. If i remember correctly the plc strips ran about 27v at 1400ma. So your proposed configuration would give you total forward voltage of around 162vdc, and output power around 230watts.
Short answer, yes it will work but you could probably come up with something better. Before i dig any deeper, would like to know if you already have the strips.
I know, need to build bigger light to put more heat in.
