Let's talk DIY lights

I just received the strips and this driver from a friend for free are they compatible If not how many to 88V301 board will it work boards will it work thanks

Looks like a 42v strip and 12v driver, those wouldn’t be compatible together according to the info printed on them.

@anon43727043 ho3 are you doing buddy? Brian tells me you may be wanting to build a light?

You might already know, but you can sign up for email alerts. Go to PLC Website and give your email and they will contact you to be able to preorder.

Yeah it just sucks that I have ordered everything and I waited one day too long and now have to wait for preorders to open again. Is there another brand who makes similar strips in the same 1" form so I can use the heatsinks I already bought.

That would be a question for @dbrn32. I have the mindset that I can do just about anything, I just don’t have the brains to figure it all out without a little guidance

Yeah, I love the simplicity of it. The low profile is a big plus. Just got a email from ILGM my seeds are on their way. I’m going to get them started, hopefully the other strips will be here in time for the flip to Flower.

I’m planning on doing a grow journal. I am currently working 11 to 12 hours a day, with a 45 minute drive to and from work. So if I can squeeze in the time I’m going to try to keep one up to date.

I completely understand, I never stop doing something! It can be overwhelming at times but worth it, especially to reflect on things if problems arise etc… Maybe try once a week and see how you like it, that’s what I’m starting with I think it’s good enough anyways since the plant will only do so much lol… either way have fun and I wish you best of luck!

Thinking might be better to put 2 6500k strips 4 3500k and 6 2700k lights
And run on the same 480 watts for each fixture. @dbrn32 am I making any sense and if so where can I get the strips?

Negative. You would need a constant voltage driver with 42v output constant current driver with voltage high enough to handle the sum of all strips you plan on using.

How many strips do you have?

Not really any strips that compatible with drivers and heatsinks that I know of. You could maybe get with one of the vendors on Alibaba and see about making you custom strips though.

As far as mixing cct, you could. But probably. Makes more sense to just go with all of one type that ends up close to whatever you’re trying to do.

Guess I’ll just wait on preorders again
