Let's talk about Jack's Jack

The ONLY work to hydro is the initial build.
Growing weed in hydro and using Jack’s just doesn’t get any easier.

I grew in coco and I think about all the work, every day. Mix nutes, water to runoff, clean up. Every day! And then you have to flush… urrg!
Why would anybody want to do that?? hahaha!
Definitely knocking anybody that does. I know it can be therapeutic… but shezzz? Everyday?? I don’t think I need that much therapeutic. lol… :joy::joy:

She has been on auto pilot since Sunday when I changed the water. I’ve checked the PH and ppm’s three times since then. Made an adjustment once… “wheewww, I’m beat!”…:joy::rofl::joy:

I use:
Armor si
Part A
Epson Salt
Part B
Hydroguard.
I’m satisfied with the results. :v::+1:t2::sunglasses:

Yeah more unusual to need cal mag in coco but good move charging it…not gonna lie I was like if Jack’s doesnt work out for me I’m either gonna bounce to advanced or go back to GH. But I also dont like feeding the corporate machine either with GH so…:man_shrugging:t5:

Big facts big bro and I was traveling to get spring water at one point to feed my girls in coco cuz my tap is 340 ppm. I mean I have an RO system now but still. Stupid easy and building it is not even that bad now that I have the bulkheads and hole saws which go up to 6 in off Amazon. If anything I’d go back to soil for quality maybe but the only time ima run coco at this point is just to use up the few gal I have left from when I transitioned. Look at those buff arm on her :sunglasses:

Autopots are right up there with RDWC in my opinion, but you’re right. There’s not too much too maintaining a good hydro system.

@Sincitytoker I run silica with the Jack’s and that’s it. I do run the MKP at 2-2-2-1.2 for the first 3 weeks.

Sorry didn’t mean rdwc to sound so inclusive. Have heard nothing but good stuff with the auto pots. :sunglasses:

What’s the pot “automating”?

I’m a newbie…but am using Jack’s for my nutes in promix soil growing 5 GG autos…my girls are 4 and 5 weeks old and just starting to flower. I have used no nutes till week 3 then used full nutes, last week started adding the bloom at 1/4 dose then half and now this next feed will be full bloom with a,b and Epsom regime and last feeding I started to add milk to the food mixture because I have asked about feeding schedule and a more experienced person here replied that they don’t ever take anything away…so mine have been getting fed well…they all look very healthy in my opinion with just the slightest tip burn on a few leaves…ppm in run off is super high but again everyone looks beautiful and healthy :man_shrugging:

@Myfriendis410 You don’t add any tribus original in veg?
Or fulvic acid in flower?

Oh i also add mr fulvic to each feed as well and the soil for the youngest two have mykos and worm casings to start with

It’s a gravity feed under-feed system with a float valve to control liquid. I’m running them for the second time and the plants are liking the setup much better than the first run. Right now my two plants are drinking about 4 gallons a day. Trying to keep up with them haha! 12 gallon rez is not quite enough right now.

You’re all good, brother.

Silica and cal mag if it’s needed. I’ve run all of that stuff and frankly a good base nutrient schedule does just fine. Good lights, good terroir, attention to the plant and usually good results lol. I need to do an update on my journal.

I dont know how well it works out fornthe plant but my hydro bucket i do recharge for the plant but when i change over nutes i let the plant sit in the recharge water while i clean the bucket and make fresh nutes then from the rechatge to the bucket again after all mixed up and ready. I try to get it some recharge while cleaning lol. Not sure if it works or not

Yeah I’ve heard of this. Kinda like inoculating the plant to the beneficials. I honestly had noticeable results using recharge in coco. Are you not noticing a response by the plants in a day or so? Like usually I’d do my trimming, topping whatever on a recharge day and it was def noticeable. I threw it in my 8 gal res with the Mephisto girl a few hrs ago since I’ll be changing it out in 45 minutes when the lights hit. I used it on my other girl in week 1 and her roots look decent. Stopped it cuz he leaves were getting pretty dark. Guess it ain’t no fun if you dont try something new once in a while lol

I keep coming back like man I just wanna bite a cola Haha. I got some Skywalker crosses too def should consider them next. I don’t have much exp with OGs

I run rdwc and only need to go out every 3 weeks to empty and feed…
Water only grow…
Hooked up to my ro system…
I only go out once a week just to make sure that a pump or fan or bulb hasn’t deied…
That’s it…
I only feed 4 or 6 times in flower…
And I only feed every 3 weeks…
Rdwc…:+1:
Only way to go…
Super simple and my system’s only hold 18 gallons to start with…
Every 3 weeks I drop my water level 1 inch …
It builds more oxygen roots…

So you’re doing res changes every three weeks??? I’m cleaning this joker every 7 days faithfully. Mind u haven’t build the R part yet but I’m all about some 3 weeks lolol

Yes…
Starting ph is 5.5 and my nutrients are staged for every 3 weeks of growth…
Just let them roll…

Get me some PB cuz I’m jelly rn! Tell me more. Does the res need to be bigger or the same height/size as the main? I was hoping to hook up a smaller res just for access but wondered about water level and balancing that. Doing any additives?
