Like a fool I underestimated a storm. Had it tied in 3 spots, but wind whipped the top around pretty good. Stem is not broken, but definitely leaning to the side. It looked gray and hour ago, ahhh!!
Just wait and see if it straightens back up?

She’ll be just fine. Probably bounce back by the end of the day.
Thanks - a tied it more towards the top just so it’s perfectly vertical, will put it back out when storms pass….
Don’t go to crazy making it perfect.
The plants can take a beating and thrive.
I forget where I read it…maybe Dr. Derek Butt? He has great YouTube videos…I learned a lot about LST " low stress training"… when the main shoot bends over…it releases a hormone that tells the lower shoots to grow more aggressive towards the top…made sense to me…the plant goes into damage control mode…in the process you get a canopy of buds!
Happy gardening
She will bounce back in no time. Alittle nature strengthening at its finest. Plants like alittle wind in order to strength up the branches and the overall structure of the plant.
Be carful with the plumbers tape around the stalk. You don’t want to slice the plant open at all. Better safe then sorry. Maybe replace it with something alittle softer.
Happy growing…
I agree she will bounce back
@HippieRunner1 I use plumbers tape! Broke one of my plants twice used plumbers tape worked so good imo. Way easier and better to control then most other tapes I’ve tried lol. Will be buy grafting tape sometime in the future incase it happens again
As long as you aren’t experiencing any negative effects.
I used little fabric ties, no tape since nothing was broken, just bent.
I use electrical tape
These plants are called weed. They are very resilient.
Glad to hear it and see it! She is a little more straight today. Keeping a tie loosely on in a couple places, but the sun is shining here and we’re back on track.
Thanks for the quick replies everyone!
I would not even worry a bit if she did not break. Just like my veggies she will straighten up stronger. I only grow veggies outside. 60 mph gusts common here. NORMAL daily wind is 20-35.
