Hello all… this is my veg room pictured below. I have an DIY array of 12 2ft T5 HO at canopy level, and a Chinese LED 30" above canopy as per manufacturer distance recommendation. Should I turn off the Full Spectrum multicolored lights during Veg? and just have the 2 bright COB’s running?
here’s the light spec JUHANG Dual COB+Dimmable 920W Full Spectrum LED Grow Light for Greenhouse Indoor Hydroponics Plant and Flower Growing(Double Switch) I was going to put a link to amazon on it but I think I read somewhere that we can’t do that on the forum.
On the product description on amazon, it says “Full Spectrum color promote extreme growth in seeding vegetation and flowering cycles” etc. but what puzzles me is it also says "Double Switch to use the lights according customers requirement for plants and Veg and dimmable switch to adjust the 32pcs leds. " which to me, implies to use COB during Veg, and Full Spectrum for Flowering… a bit confused. Thus far I’ve run both COB and LED. Thank you
Makes sense, my Flowering room could make better use of the spare LED, thanks
Just thought of something… I had planned on dropping my rotation down to 8 from 12, because even with a 1000w HID running, and a supplemental “1800 Chinese watts” LED… my Flowering room currently needs more light. If I take the 920w LED with the 2 COBs from the Veg area, and add it to the Flowering Room I think would be much better. The T5’s have 12 bulbs, I have 4 more (just haven’t figured out where I want to put them yet) and they can handle the Veg area just fine. Great advice @SlowOldGuy… time to plant 4 more seeds to add to my newest batch of 8 I started a few days ago…
holy chit man, how freaking big is your flower room.? lol
definitely.!!
add them between the other T5’s in the veg room,
do between the 1st 2 lights on the ends then space the other 2 out between the other 9 empty spaces.! it would be… (Light Light Light Space Light Space…)

@SlowOldGuy My Flower Room pic is below. 11 plants, not 12, the big ones are Bangi Haze, and to the left under the 1800W LED are my UK Cheese plants barely visible and very short (not a great job growing them)… The plants are spaced out because just before I put them into darkness I spread them out, for better air circulation. Here’s my Flower Room all plants went into 12/12 hrs on 1 Oct.

I still like your idea of putting both LED’s 1800w and the 920w with COBs, into the Flower Room to maximize light for the flowering period. The T5 array of 12 should be ample for the Veg space (plus I have 4 more T5’s that I can add - I started with 6 T5’s, and found an awesome deal on Kijiji for 12 lights/bulbs/power cables for $160, so I snapped that up without even haggling). My med license says I can grow 30 indoor and 8 outdoor, so I’m well under that…
as for the T5’s, I think I’ll leave the 12 lights up top, and maybe run the remaining 4 vertical, one at each end in the middle running straight up and down, and one on either side in the center running vertical as well… that should help give tons of light to those under leaf dark places.
