Late blooming autoflower?

That’s signaling sexual maturity Grow Bro :love_you_gesture:

This is what I consider pre-flower and very close to the start of when I count flowering for an estimated harvest date

So I went ahead and mulched the plant (because I ran out of space), growing another the same strain and it’s day 44 and seeing similar things. I went ahead and switched it to 12/12 but I’m wondering, just in general, when growing autos when should you assume it’s actually photo and switch it over? I’m assuming the seeds I got were either mislabeled or the genetics are just not as good as advertised

Autos can start flowering as early as 3 weeks or several weeks later. I’ve seen autos take 10 weeks or so. Typical is 6 weeks under ideal conditions. An auto or photo period plant won’t flower until their sexually mature which is typically around 4ish- 6 weeks :love_you_gesture:

I have a white widow auto from ilgm that vegged for 12 weeks and just now started flowering. I have already harvested another white widow auto that was planted at the same time as the others… they are on a 18/6 schedule in my veg room with my photos. I even have another auto thats still packing on the buds and shes at 12 weeks also…

So let’s say during week 6, if I’ve noticed sexual maturity for a couple of weeks but nothing beyond the initial pistils at the nodes, would it be a safe decision to switch over to 12/12?
I’m guessing if it truly is just a late blooming autoflower, the switch would only hurt in that the plant won’t grow as vigorously without the extra light?

I just want to avoid the plant vegging out of control and taking up my entire grow space before starting to bud. Of course a better solution is just to upgrade my setup to give me more space, but it’s not an option atm.

If this is 6 weeks above ground then autos will typically start the flower cycle. You can flip the light schedule to 12/12 and should see preflower in 7-10 days :love_you_gesture:

Yeah I recently had an auto do 11 weeks in veg and another 15 weeks in flower.

Nothing I tried forced her to bloom. All you need is patience she will pop. She ended up being quite the monster. She took up the entire 4x4 tent by herself

Just to be clear and provide an update, it seems like the seeds I have are just photoperiod so switching the schedule worked for me. Must’ve been mislabeled or something, but it does make me realize that I prefer the control photo seeds give
