Your off the a great start with the bubble buckets. It really ez, it like mixing a Long Island ice tea for youy plant. I think I add 9 things in my nutrient mix about the same for a Long Island tea.
My advise is to not have to many plants pulling off the same res. Knowing what a plant is consuming and being able and feed it just the PPM it wants helps
The reason I was thi ing RDWC, was , it frees the ability up, for me to do water changes.
If I do SCROG, then picking the buckets up and moving them to a new bucket , would be just asking for issues when they are big in sjze.
Its space that has driven me to think RDWC
Would it still be better to do bubble buckets? In your opinion?
Once mine go into their forever home, right after seedling stage, they are NEVER moved again until they get the ax. You have to adjust your grow according to the space you have to grow. I am fortunate to have a large area. Iām older and canāt get around good. Watering multiple plants was something that I didnāt, couldnāt, do. This system works best for me.
No, bubble bucket a step to RDWC where want to be. You cant grow a 4āx4āplant in a 5gal bucket without a res.
I store my RO in 6 gal containers and just yesterday pulling one out of the tub was thinking my days a numbered growing this way
I donāt see my plants root for 11 weeks in flower. I take a wiff off the res and can smell if theres a problem, donāt need to see
I donāt use RO water. I use tap water and add a dechlorinator. 25ml/50gal. Itās cheap and I donāt have to fool with the filter. I run the garden hose through the window, and fill em up.
Mines PPM480 . it makes a coating, turned my cloner white inside
That makes a difference. Mine is like PPM- 65
I hope I can pull the RDWC off, it will be tough for me to drian , due to where my tent resides.
$15 you can get an extra pump and just pump it out into a bucket 3 gals at a time
Makes sense! Good idea.
Coco is just pure hydro. In Texas it pretty much requires a chiller to keep root rot away. For me, the buckets fill with roots such that they get too dense to allow water in and rot from the center of root mass and spreads outward. So why coco? No air pump. No air stones. No water pump, hoses or tubes. 100% of nute solution is used by plants, so no runoff, no drainages. They get watered by soaking it up thru the bottom of the pots. My first time trying it, so far, so goodā¦
Interesting @bryan
Do you have a photo of your setup , that you do not mind sharing?
The Coir Explorer is this grow log. Donāt know how to link to it
Ill.go check it out. Thanks
You da man @monkman
In Georgia, I have the same problem, UNTIL I bought a chiller
@Grandaddy013. Hope a is well you way! Blessings fellow farmer.
I want to make sure I am clear on a statement you made.
Last week.we was talking about my, female Autos, and them.going hermi on me. This is when you commented on, why one would throw away smoke with a few seeds in it.
Then you said, āthey will produce female plantsā
Did I hear this correctly?
Is this how they make female seeds? Stress them to hermi, then the plant pollinated itself keeping itās own genetics?
Iāll chime in also since I have my Maui x LSD grow going. First, no this is not how they make femenized. Mine is slightly different as my LSD hermed and I used the pollen onto a branch of the Maui. I got some nice seeds on the branch and so far out of 5 plants all are female. The herm trait could come through on all the plants but may not 100% it will. Most tell me to kill the herm seed plants because of this but I like to play around so I am growing them to see what I get. all the seeds can still grow different plants as it is not a stabilized strain. I can see differences in all five of my plants. I believe the chance of being female is greater in my instance of 2 plants being used than your seeds coming from 1 hermed plant but someone more informed may correct me
