Just wondering if anyone knows if a King Plus 1000watt LED will work from start to finish with a ilgm strawberry kush? I am a newbie, and the King light was what my budget and space called for. Thanks for any info on this subject in advance. Any good info or thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Will be used in a 48"x48"x80" tent.

Yupp, you’ll have more than enough lighting with that 1000w. How much was it if you don’t mind me asking?
And btw, with your grow space you could grow up to 4 under that 1000w. In a 4’x4’ I would recommend only 2-3 plants though, but if you don’t grow them too big you can easily do 4. It’s all up to my my friend!

I paid $150. I went LED as heat would be an issue with HID for me. And figured I’d go 1000 watts as most things I’ve read on LEDs regardless of maker is that they only put out roughly 40-45% of what they say they do.
That’s a good deal. And yea, they say 1000w full spectrum blah blah blah, and then say, 600 actual watts. It never makes sense why they even say it’s a 1000w in the first place! Lol just advertise it as its actual wattage please! Got a pic? I’m looking into buying LEDs to add supplemental lighting, but would like to make the switch to them entirely eventually.

I’ll post pic when light comes back on as I do have one random bag seed and a auto silver bullet about 10 days old in their dark time right now. Doin 18/6 light schedule on both. These seeds were given to me to just get my feet wet so to speak before I start the strawberry. Which btw thanks to ilgm was very fast receiving.

I am starting to get a sense, from stuff I’ve read that the 3watt LEDs are better for penetration than the 5watters… idk if this is true but I’m type of person who at some point will investigate further just to see with own eyes. Something about the direction and degree of placement is what makes the 3’s a lil better for penetration from stuff I’ve read.
3w run cooler and some say will last longer 5w are hotter so they need more cooling and seem to need to be further from the plants.
5w will get more penetration but some 3w come with lenses that allow them to get better penetration but less area or spread and I haven’t seen many 5w with the lenses yet!
I have 2 led lights one 3w one 5w and heat and pen are the only differences I can see plants dont seem to care.

Top pic is king plus 1000 watt. 2nd is 14 day old auto silver bullet. Last pic is a random bag seed at 14 days. Both are in ocean forest in 5gal fabric pots. I did put wrong age on previous post. Apologies, 4 days, for me anyways shows a lot of change…lol

The King And King Plus brands are overstating their stats. I have two of the 800 w king plus. They actually are almost as effective as a Mars 300. The footprint will be smaller because they have to be closer than what you would think. They will work and produce nice buds just slower and smaller yields. I switched to an hps now. Will use the 800s for seedlings and early veg.
@Stomper yeah I copy that. Figured my 1000watt king prolly actually only bout 400watt Will be upgrading in future for sure. I will only be growing 2-4 ladies at a time and on two I think it’s ok for now.
my auto silver bullet 23-25 days since seedling. Roughly 10" tall. a random bag seed. About 6" tall… I’m a beginner by far but they seem to look ok…?

Just looking at previous posts of mine and realized my plant almost tripled in height the last week… 3.5" to 10". Roughly…the auto did anyways.

Firat ever grow. 35-38 days since germinated… auto silver bullet. 22" tall 18" wide approximately. FFOF soil, FF trio nutes, King Plus 1000watt led and 3-150watt cfl.

Also for first two weeks i had light way to close, had extreme temp/humidity fluctuations for first couple weeks also. about 32 days in i had a cfl fall into it. Think its not lookn to bad for a newbie and the issues ive encountered thus far. From the crappy pics how they looking?
