Thanks guys, ill be clearer, he was 82 and got pneumonia which is what killed him but along the way they found he had some kind of nasty leukemia. hes an old doctor so said he didn’t want any resus and it was quick, relatively painless, and he got to say goodbye to his family and he kept his dignity, more then a lot of people get… still shocking though, he was fine 3 weeks ago. but thankyou all, and ill se you over on the New thread. Hi thanks for all the tips. Why light proof main reservoir?

So you don’t get algae build up…
It will start to eat the food and could cause slime… :+1::wink:

Yes, but there is no plant in my main reservoir. Just water feeding to the other buckets

Even without a plant in it , it will still start to build algae in there if it’s not light tight… :+1::wink:

Hello @Swedespade and welcome to the community. If you let light in, then algae can grow. Even though there is no plant in the reservoir, everything circulates through the container and back. If you have algae in your reservoir, then it will contaminate your other container. I paint my lids to stop this.

Does the size of the seed have any relevance to anything?

It doesn’t. I’ve had plants that were monsters that came from exceptionally small seeds. This is the most recent small seed:
