Keeping temps up during lights out

@WormyUnicorn thanks for the advice. I have a heat lamp with a red bulb used for keeping chicks warm in there for the heat. My HLG260 doesnt produce any heat. I was told the red heat lamp had to be shut off during lights out. The fresh air being sucked in is around 68 degrees. Temps at the canopy with air flowing and heat lamp on are around 74 and rh is down to 40. Plants dont seem to mind is much. They look pretty good this morning.

Welcome , as mentioned you will be fine with the temperature swing lights on an off.

It’s the light issue during bloom, I get it.

Try replacing with a ceramic bulb. You get the heat but no light. This is what I’ve got. They are just $16 for two on Amazon. You could probably get just one cheaper at a pet store.

@WormyUnicorn Good to know. Ill order some right now. This is the bulb I have now.

I think I may end up putting two in there because these are my temps right now with it on.

You can pick the Ceramic bulbs up at your local pet store they have them to use with reptiles. Good luck

Im thinking I’ll definitely need to run two of the ceramic bulbs to even make a dent. The bulb I have now is 250w. The biggest ceramic ive found is 150w.

For reference, remind yourself that outdoor cannabis grows see much colder temps than that. My outdoor plants have seen the 30s and experienced frosts. Cannabis is rugged. It also depends on the strain…I run rugged Kush strains that come from areas of the world that see harsh weather. Sativas however do not perform well in cooler conditions

Its all good! Reminders are good for me! My wife keeps telling me to stop worrying so much and how much harsher it is outdoors and they thrive in that climate.
