LOL I may be soon! I just ordered a robot kitty for Shell to see if it helps to calm her when she gets agitated.
She and I discussed replacing Blackjack when he died. We agreed that getting a new pet at this stage of our lives was not going to work for us. Her doctor suggested a cuddly cat during her last appointment.
The robot cat may not work out but desperate times call for desperate solutions.
Edit: The Jetsons was my favorite when I was a little boy, 65 years ago.
This the one that I ordered:
Hopefully it will help your lovely Lady Gwendolyne

Always sending millions of tons of loving and caring vibes your way Monsieur Magical Man!

It may seem like a lot of money, but I just spent nearly that much on DIRT! Shell deserves at least as much.

I am only 50% confident that it will work out. That is good enough for me, at this point.

Time for self-refection!!
Absolutely worth a try!
My MIL had a couple stuffed teddy bears that used to keep on her bed, it seemed merely because they were cute.
Though, after her dementia became advanced, she took comfort in holder/hugging them, proving to be very therapeutic for her, especially while in bed.
Evenings (sundowning) and early mornings were especially difficult for her, so the bears were helpful.
She has her Valentineâs Day teddy bear that I give her to hold sometimes. Mixed results with that but certainly better than nothing.
I am hoping that the âinteractiveâ nature of the robot kitty will bridge the gap for her. We will know within hours of getting it, I think. That will be Saturday.
Edit: For us, âsundowningâ starts at about 1 PM most days.
I came across the robot kitties not too long ago and saw good things about them, and the interactive nature is intriguing.
Wishing the best for her and the kitty! ![]()
Oh, 1pm is early for sundowning, thatâs extra challenging.
Have you considered fostering an animal?
We have had cats until our last one died a few years ago. The loss of Blackjack was very, very difficult for me. Took over a year to get myself together.
Lossing my wife, gradually, is about as much loss as I can handle. Even fostering, we would become very attached as we love animals.
I hope and pray the kitty works better than you expected My Brother ![]()

@kaptain3d Do you want me to ask a moderator to move this discussion (robo kitty, etc) to my topic where it really belongs? I donât have a preference but you may.
Oh heck no! I consider you a friend and your happiness, and Lady Gwendolyneâs happiness are important to me. So please, leave this here, no need to hide away my friend.

Same here! Thank you so much.
I, for one, found the discussion to be interesting and informative. The more we all know about Alzheimerâs, the better!
If MY wife had Alzheimerâs, I would stick a 7 mg nicotine patch between her shoulders every day for two weeks and see if her symptoms improved, helps with Parkinsonâs too. This is not official medical advice, only what I would do for mine.![]()

So what youâre trying to say⌠is that the nicotine is the thing keeping my marbles inside? ![]()
âŚmakes sense.

Oh you young whippersnappers sure know how to pull my heartstrings.. ![]()
Love this Kap and thank you for making this such a special place. ![]()

How nice life would be if we didnât have to deal with the crushing pain of death and loss⌠I really hope robokitty helps, even if just a little.
Good morning Legends ![]()
This morning, a great grower in another forum (@ravenchief ) posted this piece that sharkmousethesecond published on IG about the Bro science of dark periods before harvesting:
I think the author makes a lot of very valid points, backed by real science ![]()
What do you friends think?
May you all enjoy a fantastic day friends
