So I ordered some seed from RSC and got a dozen Johaar for freebies. My suspicion is that the freebies are old stock and they just want to get rid of them? I also was wondering about the viability of said seed.
So to explain, I grow vegetables indoors that take up the majority of my grow room and cannabis is a minority in it. Nevertheless, I felt compelled to pop a couple seeds, the first being a 2 year old seed from OG called Jawa Kush. The second was the Johaar.
To pop the Johaar put one drop of seaweed and kelp extract into a shotglass of distilled water. 36 hours later and the seed was easily sunk and ready for the paper towel. The growroom was already sitting at 80f and 60 Rh because of vegie seedlings. I figured Id take advantage of that and use a metal container with metal lid to place the shotglass and eventually the moist paper towel in, so light would not be an issue. I also placed the moist towel in an Tupperware container so I didnt have to refresh the moisture. I was about to give up after day 7, each day I would look and provide fresh air. It wasn’t until day 10 that the tail emerged. I planted the little thing immediately and on New years day the helmet broke ground!
About the strain, this particular plant is said to be able to reach 5 meters thats 18 feet American! In the wild. The leaves are typically extremely large and relatively wide. So far it has lived up to its description. At 2 weeks old the plant is gigantic in comparison to the kush plant.
I wont bore yall to death with to many details but keep a semi running report on its growth characteristics for any that care to grow this plant.
Thats a sour cream tub, its hard to get proper ratio and proportion so the 2 tubs are touching and the kush plant is 3 weeks older! These baby leaves are huge!
I am leaning toward letting the plants roots fill the container before I attempt a transplant. Im still only watering every 3 days or so. Id like to see the plant get hungry in 2 days
@Cannabian I said these are older seeds. They are from Winter 2017 so yeah, they are getting them gone so new ones can come in.
I’m still waiting for more info about the Tora Bora seeds. I’m following for sure as I have I think 37 seeds of Johaar. I’m thinking of dropping a couple Tora Bora seeds and see if I can get a male plant for pollen.
Yeah, but the fellow that ownes RSC said to me that once germination rate falls below 60 percent he off liads them as freebies. And thats ok for me. This seed was stubborn coming out of the gate, and most growers would have abandoned it after 7 days or so, but it popped and is very healthy so far.
The Jawa Kush came out of its helmet super smelly, the Johaar is pretty much odourless at this point… but thats typical of many plants, the smell comes on later, so Im not concerned. This is a test run anyway. I may actually gift the Jawa Kush as its too skunky for my taste.
Too bad I just replaced both my toilets last year! Lol… It should be pretty easy to phone anplumber friend and aquire a pooper from a job? Take it to a carwash and giver a spray!
